Angry Which air filter should I choose

So recently I bought F22 228iX and I did my first service but I didn't know which air filter to choose because on realoem.com it says that if you have M Sports Package which I have, then you would have to choose the filter with 3 layers instead of 2.

So for M Sports package 13718511668

for non M package 13718507320

They are the same dimension only in the M version there is another third layer. The price difference is kinda big (98%), and I dont know if I have the M airbox or not. Do you think I will be okay with normal filter with only 2 layers?

Nothing wrong with a plain paper filter, you can't do better with fuzz on it. M = $$$.

It’s a lot cheaper on FCP Euro for the same Mahle filters. And the one with the pre filter is about $20 cheaper than at ECS tuning.

And if you purchase it from FCP you'll never pay for another filter, as long as they honor their lifetime replacement warranty!

I didn’t appreciate that they replace wear and tear items. For air filters this is a great deal just for sending back by USPS.

I am not sure if it's really worth returning a used air filter. If you shop a bit, you can find an OEM Mahle or Mann for about $20 - 25. It certainly cost at least $15 to ship USPS Standard.

Great story!
The filter being discussed is the engine air filter & has nothing to do with the car's A/C.

I have been using KN Airfilter since 10K KM's ago. Don't really notice much gain, but no issues at all.

Go to www.realoem.com and enter the last 7 characters of your car's vehicle identification number. Hit enter and bookmark the page.. Click on fuel injection system to find the correct part number for the filter.

I used a K&N on my ATV for one trip, when I pulled it to clean it I noticed A LOT of dirt passed through it. Never again will I use a K&N type filter.

here in germany many 2 owners recommend using the Pipercross Airfilter as its easier to clean and maintane than the K&N Filters that are oiled.
I will buy one soon and let u know if i notice any difference, im about to replace mine in a few weeks.
