Anyone regret going with 19" wheels?
I think I've spent a good 20+ hours looking at wheels for my upcoming M235i and I'm trying to like 18s but 19s just look so good. An aspect ratio of 30 just makes me think it has to be a rough ride. If you have 19s, any regret? Worth it? My wheel choice front runner is currently V703 in storm grey.

I had 19s on my M3. They are very susceptible to curb damage and pothole damage. The ride didn't feel much different.
I'm looking at new wheels but plan on getting 18s. I'm currently leaning towards BBS CS5s. |

225/35, 255/30 (Michelin PSS). Not comfortable in that it's no S Class, but not unbearable either

I think the 19" fits the 2 series very well and the ride is very close to stock. I'm running 225/35 and 245/35.

If you drove on anything but perfect roads I would stay away from the 19's on this car. If you are lucky enough to live in an area that doesn't see snow or potholes then it's probably fine.

The ride quality is very similar, and ofcourse you have to have your head on a swivel for potholes, but I think even with the 18's, a pothole is still going to be a problem. I keep mine at around 45psi to give me a little more cushion between the wheel & the road.

For me...I'd stay with 18", because 19" will increase the car ride height just a tad and affects performance and handling as well. Car may feel a bit slower too.

I do like the looks of 19's more vs 90% of 18's out there. I can't speak for 18's but you have to be careful and pretty much dodge potholes. Personally I dont mind being a little more careful. Im in New England, still stuck with 19's, and I don't know why. Probably for looks.
Oh and ditch the run flats, the cabin noise difference between RF's and NRF'S should sway you away in itself. Last edited by Csmoove195; 10-29-2015 at 05:56 AM.. |
