Front Lip Pictures Please :)
Hey Folks,
I'm looking at getting the m performance front lip and I see that everyone paints them a little different. I'd like to see some pictures of everyone's front lip!

Some nice pics! Anyone have an adjustable front splitter fitted to their 2er? I can't say I've ever seen one, so I'm curious what might be out there.
I go back and forth on the idea of a front splitter/lip. If I lived at the track, then sure, but is a handful of track days a year worth the reduced ground clearance up front when driving around town year round? I can't seem to convince myself that it is. I also have mixed feelings about the MP front splitter. I tend to lean towards MP parts for any aesthetic upgrades, but the MP front splitter is the only part in the MP catalog that I find a little strange looking. Something about how that big rectangular piece on the left and right air dams covers the existing part of the front bumper. It looks (literally) tacked on. Actually, to be fair, it looks pretty good on Dylan86's all-black 2er above, but I think that might be because it's more subdued in all the blackness. Am I alone in thinking this??? Also, is there a chance that only the lower splitter portions can still be attached without having to use the air damn covers? Wondering how that might look as well...

^ I agree with you there. I'm not a fan of the MP front splitter, either for the same reason you stated and the "double stack" in the center. Plus, it sits lower than I'd like. I wish we had something like the GazP front lip that the EU guys have access to.

Does anyone know if there is an adjustable splitter that can be fitted to the 2er? I haven't come across any that are advertised to work with the 2-series, but I'm curious if something out there for the E9X, 1-series, etc might work with some minor modifications.

My 330Ci has the ZHP package which includes a front lip and even with being mindful there were a number of times it got scraped against those dreaded parking bump stops. Oh how I hated that sound. I took to always backing in a spot, save for when getting groceries when I'd want trunk (boot) access.
With stock lip in my M240i, it seems to clear those parking stops, at least at Berkeley Bowl parking lot. So with any lip, I wanna know if it passes the parking bump stop test! |
