2018 Order Guide?

Is it out yet? Dealer is saying no, but usually there's better info here.

Thanks,

I'm waiting for the 2018 Order Guide as well. The SA I'm working with at Motorwerks in Minnesota says he has his computer set up to notify him as soon as it's available so he can give me a call. He estimates we'll see the order guide in late May or early June. FWIW, I would expect BMW to issue a press release hyping the refreshed 2 Series around the time the order guide appears, so I'm keeping an eye open for that as an indicator.

It typically comes out between the end of May and the second week of June for BMW NA, and a few days before that for the EU. I figure the LCI announcement will happen by May 20 or so. So you've got a couple of weeks before the 2018 train starts a-rollin'.

2017's came out around June 13th of last year, so expect 2018's around the same time.

Forgive my ignorance, but I've never purchased a new BMW. Will the 2018 M240i be sold at MSRP or is it fair to expect a discount? If so, how far off of MSRP do you foresee?

You should get a discount.. It's not much of a change from '17 and 2 series aren't a hot seller.

How much of a discount you get is up to you.. You need to shop the car your looking for to see who will give you the price you're looking for.

TrueCar has been showing a consistent discount of $2,500 for a well optioned, manual car. I'll likely end up ordering one.

I ordered my car on June 18th, 2016 (apparently only 5 days after the ordering guide came out) and got $2,500 - $3,000 off (I don't recall the exact number, but it worked out to a bit over 6%). I don't see any reason why you shouldn't expect about the same. If you have options, don't be afraid to walk out of a dealer and go elsewhere. I walked out of two dealers who offered me little to nothing off MSRP on my build before I got that deal at a third dealer.

However, as it's essentially the same as the 2017 model, consider looking for a deal on a car on the lot which meets your expectations. You can probably negotiate a decent deal on a fully equipped car, and if you're patient and keep your eyes out, BMWNA or dealers will sometimes offer $1k off deals on dealer lot stock. You might be able to find a 2017 car with more options for less than a new 2018 order. As my order dragged on (took 4+ months from ordering to delivery) and I saw more and more offers on 2016 models, I considered cancelling my order and taking a car off the lot (ultimately I stuck with it, as I wanted the B58 engine).

You can do much better. 8-10% off MSRP and there's usually some backdoor way to get fleet (passport, AARP or whatever promo BMW is currently running until it gets too popular) for an additional $2500 on top of the MSRP discount

Remember TrueCar is no longer legit

I appreciate your feedback but I am set on the LCI. The few upgrades it does receive appeal to me.

Interesting - I'd love to learn more. What is meant by 'passport'. I'm a little young for AARP... Does BMW offer a loyalty program? Maybe a competitor program?

I did not know this.
AARP has no age limit.

I am a couple of decades away from retirement and I still got my AARP fleet

unfortunately so did thousands of other people so BMW threw a tantrum and stopped honoring the deal, same with Passport direct. Ask your dealership's fleet guy to see what he can do, or just google a lot to find incentives to stack.

We got 20% off the wife's X1 by coupon clipping - it amazes me that my SA told us that most people are happy with paying MSRP (but then again we're in an area with a lot of stupid, rich people)

TrueCar numbers are skewed by these gullible buyers, they are not your friend and you can do much better if you're willing to shop around. Also truecar is rolling the percentage off MRSP in with whatever other deals the buyer got, so you don't know exactly what they negotiated off the MSRP before applying incentives and discounts (it's very important to agree on a low MSRP before you drop the "oh, AND I want fleet" on the SA)

Remember the 2 series is a niche car that is not selling especially well, and BMW is coming off a slow month. Go between multiple dealers and play them off against each other. Say dealer A is offering you 8% (even if they aren't) and ask dealer B if they can match or do better. Walk away immediately if they won't play ball, unless you live in a small town or a horrible area (LA prices for eg are terrible) then you should get a great deal with very little work

OK,

So I am trying to understand how this works. I am looking to order a 2018 M240i. My 'presumed' pricing (based on 2017 options) is:

Alpine white, manual, sunroof delete, sDrive:

Base - $44,450.00
Destination Fee - $995.00

Options:
BLK Leather - $1,450.00
Driving Asst. - $950.00
Driving Asst. Plus - $700.00
Heated Fr. Seats - $500.00
Navigation - $1,950.00
HK Sound System - $875.00
Parking Asst. - $500.00

MACO - $500.00
Training Fee - $180.00
MSRP - $53,050.00

From my research that calculates to an invoice of $49,385

Assuming this holds true for the 2018 models - what is the range for a 'good deal'?

What about incentives? I understand that I should negotiate the final price before applying incentives. I stumbled into a 'sign & drive' event for $1,000 - what others should I chase down?

My apologies if these are silly questions - I'm trying to wrap my head around this process.

I'm in the same boat as I'll be looking to order a 2018 M240i approx 10 months from now but was curious on pricing. One thing to consider is that all MY 2018 cars have rearview camera standard and, from what I've seen from the LCI info, the M240i at least (not sure about 230i) will have standard full LED headlights. Another change presumably will be that adaptive full LED headlights will be an option. But all things considered, I can't see there but much price difference between a 2017 vs 2018 both fully loaded.

You're right! Appreciate the point out. Poor reading comprehension on my part!

The 719 bi-color with performance tires are standard.
