Called them Wednesday I believe it was and they said that the tail section is done, they're just waiting on the midpipe.

I'm assuming the delay was partially my fault because I called them and switch to a resonated midpipe instead of the race one. But that was 2 weeks ago as well. They said that everything should ship by the end of next week. We'll see. I'm eager to get the exhaust up.

Mike, i'm really interested in the Remus cat back system and since you have experience with this brand i have a couple of questions:

I want a LOUD DEEP sound but i don't want that obnoxious and raspy trashcan-like sound of some exhaust systems and i don't want drone neither.

I had the MPE in my previous M235i and it was great. The new MPE for the M240i it's not so good. My car is stock and i'd like to preserve the stock DP with just a piggyback like Dinantronics Sport when they make it work properly !

Considering all that....

1. Which front section (midpipe) would you buy ? Resonated or non-resonated ??

2. Do you think the resonated version would be too quiet since it comes with an "ECC homologation" (maybe the new EU noise rule) ?

3. The ECU operated included valve in the system is enough to reduce or cancel drone in comfort mode in case i buy the non-resonated version ?

Thanks for your time.

1- Stock Dp -> non-res
catless DP ->res

2- With stock DP, res might be too quiet for most users

3- We never got any drone complaint with REMUS systems

Nice that's good to hear. I didn't want to be to loud but I still want to use my catless DP.

M240i with 200CPI DP and CBE exhaust from BCS here in the UK - valved system - valve closed at <part throttle and flow goes through rear muffler and out both LH and RH pipes. WOT valve opens to bypass muffler and flow exits RH pipe only...

Depends on how your driving.
Sound will not be that loud unless you are going wide open throttle

I don't like that setup. It sounds cheap an raspy.

No deep tone like BMW should sound.

Hey Guys!
I don't own a M240i but a M140i which is technically the same engine (B58) with same output.

I just looked up for a new exhaust, found out about Remus and searched for an exhaust for my M140i. The problem is: Remus does not show one on their website!

So I looked up the AC Schnitzer website - and look: they offer an exhaust for my car! So I looked for the price: 2400 EUR!*(about 2535 USD)

And their EG-certificate (in German called "EG-Erlaubnis" or "EG-Bescheinigung" which means it is street legal within EU) shows: Manufacturer is Remus! And the certificate is for both M140i and M240i - so every installed part is the same! So I looked up the install instructions from AC Schnitzer - and they are the same.

My plan is now to get the technically same exhaust from Remus for about 1700 EUR instead of 2400 EUR for an AC Schnitzer-labeled Remus-one.

To do this I'm searching for the original Remus EG-certificate. Could you provide it if you receive your exhaust? Joe240 Would be great!

I also would love to hear the sound if the exhaust is installed on your car!

Thank you very much in advance!

Cheers

Not a problem GDLF. When I get the exhaust I'll be sure to look for the certification in the box. Got the tracking number on Friday. 2 separate shipments through DPD (their website shows they've only received the information, not the products so we'll see). Hoping to get it by the end of this Friday at the latest (Austria isn't too far from Germany). I'll try to get a decent video of the exhaust before and after, but most videos of exhausts never really do them justice.

Looking forward for detailed photos and videos of the system !

What is that EG certificate ? Is the same ECC homologation ?? It means the system is quiet enough for the EU ?

Yea I believe the EG Certificate is the same thing as the ECC Homologation meaning it meets the noise pollution regulations.

Yes, it's the same. In Germany it's called EG-Certificate. This Certificate is for the resonated Midpipe, the non-res one is "only" for Export - you can also buy it within EU but it is not street legal

Joe240 Remus has now already answered my e-mail and sent me the Certificates for the M240i, stating they have to "check the fitment with an M140i". The certificate is the same as the AC Schnitzer one, including the M140i For the certificate the Exhaust had to be fitted so I think it's a contract-thing with AC Schnitzer that Remus is not allowed to sell it for the M140i.

So I will order the same exhaust system as you did! Still looking forward to a sound file/video if it's installed on your M240

Cheers

You must have friends at DPD because tracking shows that it's out for delivery today Waiting impatiently for the delivery driver to come. Hopefully it's before I have to go to work, otherwise my wife will be home to take delivery.

Congrats! I'm curious to see how it sounds. I've heard great things about Akrapovic as well. They were just a little pricey for my taste. Be sure to post a before and after clip of the exhaust!

That's the best thing you can see when buying car parts: "OUT FOR DELIVERY" !

Is it too much to ask for detailed photos and before-after videos ???

Never to much to ask for that was gonna do a before audio earlier, but realized the back of the car is pretty dirty from the constant rain we've been getting. I'll be sure to get one though before the new exhaust goes on this weekend.

Exhaust came in a little bit ago. Unfortunately I'm at work so pictures will be put up tonight. Wife facetimed me so we can make sure everything was there. The one box was open when it was delivered and it also had a foot print on it (gotta love delivery companies). Everything appears to be there and in great condition. Again, pictures will be up tomorrow. Might wash the car tomorrow morning as well so I can do a before and after video.
