Just as I predicted.

Love the front! I always thought the E82 looked good, this is a step up definitely. The rear is ok, M Sport is not bad, the Modern Line rear will take some time to adjust too. I like how they made the taillights LED though.

What I don't understand is, why are the mirrors black and Ferric Grey? Looks odd, very Audi like, except Audi's is like a brushed aluminum (and I think Audi pulled it off better, even though I don't like it).

Also, how do you open thee trunk with that taillight design? Very curious to see how it's done.

I find on the M-Sport, the rear diffuser is a little plain, I liked the 135i rear diffuser better:

Otherwise, awesome car. Love the fact they have all those M Perf additions, especially the limited slip diff. Good job BMW, hopefully it drives as good as an E46

For the Aussies:

http://theage.drive.com.au/motor-new...025-2w57x.html

Interesting if correct re LSD and didn't mean retrofit.

Among the standard equipment planned for the 2-Series coupe in Australia will be air conditioning, leather bound multi-function steering wheel, park sensors, automatic dimming rear view mirror and LED tail lamps.

The 2-Series uses the same range of longitudinally mounted engines and same rear-wheel drive platform as the existing 1-Series hatchback – a layout BMW says provides the new car with class leading performance and handling.

In efforts to lift its dynamics and provide it with a more sporting nature than its hatchback siblings, BMW’s engineers have provided the entry-level coupe with unique chassis tuning, including its own track widths, which also vary between standard 2-Series coupe models and the M235i. An electronically controlled limited slip differential also appears on range topping model as standard.

Although BMW is yet to officially confirm it, Munich based sources say selected models, including the M235i, are set to receive an xDrive four-wheel drive option at a later stage.

The 2-Series coupe is assembled at BMW’s Leipzig factory on the same line as the 1-Series hatchback.

I doubt it. BMW is stuck being a luxury brand in the US. If your average American goes into a BMW dealership and sees cloth seats, they'll think it's for poor people or something.

Wow, just one positive after the other. This car is now very much on my radar as replacement for my E90 M3. All the performance options listed are exactly what I hoped for and are essential IMO. And a "short throw MT", nice.

I really liked it when I first saw the pics and its growing on me every time I look at them... Can't wait to see it in a few different colors. I feel like Black with Red interior could be the direction I go with it.

CLA45 is another 10%. Gap will increase, CLA45 options are pricey.

I think the point is electronic LSD standard - mechanical optional

One is adaptive and the other is not. The M sport suspension remains at a set rebound and dampening setting no matter what.

This is one sweet car (m235i)! Return of the e46 is right. Now also give us a sedan please!

Yup. 335 F30s have that as well. If you look at the F30 Tech specs, it is also has a dry sump tranny. Not sure who made the trans for the F22 though.

MECHANICAL limited slip?!?!

I think they realized that yes, this does mean something to enthusiasts. I thought they were adamant only full blown M series would have a MLSD.

The 'retrofit' term unsettles me. If they are simply stating it can be ordered from the M performance catalog and installed post delivery and not factory... $$$$$$

I'm guessing that the red car has the standard 18 inch wheels on it in these pics? Or are those the 19s?

So, anyone want to take a guess how much the LSD upgrade will cost? $2k, $3k? Plus install. Woof. At least BMW is finally offering it though.
