I ordered from a different vendor, and will have it next week. I will update when I get it.

Damn...wish I brought this up before buying yesterday. Are you being reimbursed for return shipping?

Yes, Brian Keller in parts is very helpfull and has been trying to get this resolved. He sent a second diffuser no questions asked and sent a return shipper for the first diffuser. Im sure he would be willing to work with you, after all he is aware of this issue.

That's good. Hopefully he's proactive enough to check this since it's such a problem.

TBH im suprised they shipped you one unless it was before this whole issue went full circle. Maybe another parts guy shipped one unknowingly. Im hoping your not in the same boat as myself.

Sorry for the delay. Just got home and it finally got here.

Thankfully, it's fine. Just a little dusty, but no scratch/mold marks.

crap, I spoke too soon. I thought it would be very noticeable so didn't see anything at first. Was in a rush. But upon closer inspection the mold lines are there.

However, I don't have the energy make a return. It's a very small flaw. Hope you get a perfect one.

It might worth the time to put in a phone call ask for a partial refund..

I have to agree, sun motor cars is a stand up group and will at the very least send you a diffuser until its right.. They are selling these just above cost so not sure on the margain for refunding but you should at least call them and let them know about the imperfections so they can get that straightened out for future customers.

I said I would update when I received mine. It seems to have the same "mold/tooling" lines as the OP, above both exhaust cutouts. Very faint though. Must be a mfg issue not specific to any vendor.

Thats too bad, does it bother you enough to return it..? The first two i got were just plain unacceptable to me. I have received my 3rd and im throwing in the towel.. He found me a near perfect one so im keeping it... It still has a few minor flaws but unfortunately this may be as good as it gets. Im just floored that such an expensive peice of plastic could have so many flaws.

Absolutley..! They work very nicely.. I just put old floor mats underneath them for the initial bite so they dont slide. Once you get weight on the front your golden. Im on low pros in the front tho, stock tires should creep up fine depending on what you have.. If you want PM me and i can get you measurements. I did some heavy math and my calculations were perfect. My m performance splitter clears perfectly with a Dinan drop.

I've emailed Brian to let him know about the defect:

#################
Hey Brian,

Wanted to raise some awareness on a molding issue with the M235i diffuser. I believe you may already be familiar with the situation, but here is a thread which documents the problem:

http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1262239

It appears that the molding defect stems from manufacturing and affects many distributors, including Sun Motors. Just wanted to confirm that the diffuser that I received also has the "scratch mark" documented in the forum thread, but it's not as pronounced as the thread pictures. You may want to let future buyers know in advance or have the warehouse team check prior to shipping.

Thanks,
Xiaoxi

Edit:

Update: Brian and I have reached an agreeable resolution. I want to thank him for providing excellent service and fully recommend Sun Motor Cars for future purchases.

As a follow up on this, several months ago I saw a privately owned M235i Racing, and the rear diffuser had the same marks as mine. Obviously the same part, but the marks were present even on that car.

Good lookin out. They must be using bad molds or are careless in the process. I think it took 3 shipments before I got one I felt ok with. I understand that there is potential for this to happen in the molding process but for there to be perfect pieces and for others to be clearly lemons there is something out of wack.
