Totally - but I think it is "prick" instead of cheesy.

just wanted to post an update : ).

I'm still undecided. Mostly still waiting on BMW to release their prices of parts..

M235i with LSD, Blue, manual = 47,000
C7 1LT, manual, performance exhaust (in stock, before the famous price increase) = 52,000 - 5,000 GM Supplier discount = 47,000

So both are same price!!

As for the C7 not being a daily driver.. my mom's daily driver was a Z4 for 4 years so I'm not sure what the difference would be. I thought corvettes (or GM cars) were in general, cheap to work on since they did not carry the BMW tax. Also just learned that Chevrolet gives you 2 years included maintenance.

The bad thing is that time is running out on the vettes. There are only a few models left that do not have the new price increase. The dealership I talked to only has a yellow and white 1LT both with performance exhaust for 52k + destination.

I was gonna email them saying i was ready to buy the laguna blue one they had (53k, cause of paint + performance exhaust) - 5,000 discount = 48k. BUT THEY SOLD IT!! I was so sad! Laguna blue is the color I wanted and now there are none left in the USA (that are base models without the price increase) : (

So - I'm a cheesy prick.

I'll replace my C6 with a C7 one day - but it's not worth it to me to go down in horsepower and sound despite the interior/exterior improvements.

I rather wait for their mid-gen refresh - like where the C6 got the LS3 and other goodies - something for you to consider as it will happen in a few years. I hope they come out with a Grand Sport again, or something like it, where the lower engine still gets aggressive flares. I did the rear widebody on my C6 as well as a cool looking z06 like front bumper.

Good news is - you can't go wrong with either.

Go for the Vette. You seem to be leaning that way anyway. Why get something based on other people's recommendations and regret it later (you are on a BMW forum so clearly most of the suggestions will be biased). Nobody is disputing that it is a great car and it has gotten nothing but rave reviews from everybody. It just may not work practically for some, but if it does for you then go for it!

Not saying it doesn't have great performance - it obviously does. It is just so cheesy to me...
Cheesy is an understatement

It's a horrible looking car.

I have to say that I have the same dilemma. I have a 135 M package with JB4/Bms down pipe /erw charge pipe with brand new Forgestar f14's. I considered ordering a Vette. But also like the boxster S. I don't think the 235 is much different then my 135 in performance. I have about 400 HP with mods. The vette gets nearly 30mpg which for a car that gets to 60 in 3.8. That's ridiculous.
