Convertible Dealer Ordering Guide
Anyone know when this will be out? Also, I read today that the M235i convertible will be available with X drive later in the 2015 model year. Anyone have more specific info on the timing of that? Thanks in advance for your help.

My local dealer was told that you'll be order a 2 vert in January. She also said that it'll be a short model year since you'll be able to order a 2016 in July.

Sure they didn't just order some other car that the dealer is mistaken?

No that is what the dealer told me. He is going to call me when it gets in and I will try and post some pictures. I guess it is possible He misunderstood but I doubt it since He is the one that posted the order.

BMW isn't even going to start production of the convertibles until November, and the first ones will be for dealer stock and should be available for test drives here in the U.S. in January, which is the same month they are planning to start production of customer orders. |

Normal sale person BS, I'd go with a complete lie, since you can't order till Jan 2015

I went by the Dealer today and spoke with my sales person. He showed me the order on the computer. It went in a couple of months ago but they have not started a build yet. He told me they should start building very soon. He thought Oct. rather then Nov. Shark. He will let me know when it comes in and I will post pictures. This was ordered not dealer stock

I'm calling Bullcrap on that. Production of the F23 models is scheduled to only start in November 2014 (see below), so even though your dealer is probably the smartest guy on the planet, I doubt he was able to alter the quantum fluctuations of the space–time continuum.

Do the dealers actually have the option codes for the convertible models enabling them to even configure a car yet? That's why I started off this thread asking if anyone had seen a dealer ordering guide that includes convertibles.

What does months in production mean? Once you order, how many months till it arrives? Thanks! |

It's the number of months the model will be made until production is stopped (usually because the next year's model of the same car will start, but occasionally vehicle are discontinued, as well). |

Sometimes you get lucky (as I did with my X1) when the exact model/option configuration you are ordering is on its way to some other dealer as dealer-stock and they arrange to reroute the vehicle to your dealer. My X1 order-to-delivery took 2 weeks with the dealer diversion, while my 128i cabrio order took about 2 &1/2 months for the full factory order-production-shipment process.
