Not yet unfortunately. I haven't had the time to, but I'm planning to do a shoot this weekend. Just got the windows tinted yesterday so she's ready to get some nice shots taken.

justinj23, very nice! I love how the sides of the oyster seats are now all oyster and so is the bottom of the seats. My previous BMW (128i) had black under the oyster and the air bag was black and so was the back of the seats. This look in the s-series is very classy. I still wish they would put some oyster on the bottom part of the dashboard. I am definitely going to go back to oyster seats in 3 years as the all black is just too dark for me.

Off topic a lil' But I want the all oyster full interior. I'm hoping to build a 2er cabrio in sparkling brown/anthracite wood and top. The interior would look best in all oyster. carpet and door cards.
Luckily there is hope. BMW UK's configurator lets me build it this way. There is a full oyster interior available on the convertible. I hope they allow this to be an option (in the US market) when it comes time for me to place an order (May 16'). Still have a lot of time to plan out what I'm going to do...but I think I've figured out my build already. Now it's time to figure out what I'm going to do with the F30 320i and the E30 325i. Probably should sell both. Tryin' to start a family and am looking for a home to buy. That is why.

I used Zymol leather treat initially for cleaners and conditioner but since it was soo easy to use & frequently used..I just started using Armour All leather care Gel as a "maintenance" product. I used it so frequently that it was all I needed to wipe dust an dirt off the seats from top down driving. That stuff worked great on a well kept interior. I Hope the 2er offers a full colored interior. Oyster would be best to match with the Sparkling Brown convertible that I am planning on purchasing.

The base 228i with Sensatec in Oyster has Oyster colored carpeting and plastics according to BMWUSA.com. Anything with Oyster Dakota Leather has the black/Oyster combo.

Are you referring to the seats or the whole interior...my CA was telling me that even in the leather cars with oyster/black...the new oyster leather is starting to look more beige than oyster... a la savannah beige for those who can recall from the 1. Can anyone confirm this. The 228i I drove seemed to be the regular oyster, but then I saw a 4 that seemed to confirm his sentiments.

I had oyster last time (black/oyster combination in the BMW 128i) and tried to change my order to have oyster again but all oyster this time and the order was put through by the dealer before I even signed so I could do no changes as it went immediately into production. I see now that the oyster leather on the BMW 228 would have been so easy to keep clean as my black has such a strong plastic coating. I really dislike sitting in the black dark interior. I miss my lighter seats so much. When I see other cars with the black interior, I feel it looks so sporty but for me, when I look inside my car, I feel sad as I like a happy bright light interior just like I enjoy lighter walls at home in a very light beige color.
So it looks like all oyster will be vinyl now and oyster/black combination will be leather. I wish they would at least add the oyster on the dashboard to make that two tone like the all oyster is. |
