2 series up on www.bmw.ca (Canada)

Build & pricing is still not up though. I wonder if we get the slats for the M235i. The images seem to indicate so.

I just went to have a look at the specifications and damn this car is heavy! The heaviest number I saw for the 135i(E82) was 1570kg but the manual M235i weight 1590kg!!! 1603kg for the manual really heavy!

We will get whatever USA gets. BMW doesn't consider Canada profitable enough to warrant distinct product lines. So no slats. I like them though.

Comparing the Cdn stats for 135i coupe manual, and M235i coupe, manual the difference is about 120 pounds. Yes, it is heavier than the 135i, but also has more equipment standard.

Yes that`s true but they did the marketing telling us it was going to be lighter which is not the case. Even the CLA45AMG which is a AWD car and a much bigger car weight 1585kg.

So what if CLA is bigger if it doesn't translate into usable passenger space ? It turns out CLA is surprisingly cramped inside (rear headroom 35.4 vs 2-series 36.5 inches).

I think BMW did acceptable but not outstanding job keeping weight of 2-series under control: M235i weights exactly the same as 135i Coupe in basic specifications despite being a bit larger and despite complying with more strict safety requirements.

They gain alot of weight from the E82 to the F22 it is not what I find acceptable for the price they are asking. VW did cut around 100lbs from the MK6 GTI to the MK7 GTI and they did it on a car costing half of the M235i this is something I find acceptable.
