What is he talking about? is this the standard rear? I thought the LSD was a Port installed expensive option?
I think there is an E-Diff as standard, and you're correct mechanical LSD is port installed...

That's an interestng viewpoint--I haven't ever driven an E36, but my dad's E46 was awesome (at least to me).

Here's hoping that they get the electronic system sorted out - which I am sure they will eventually. The one on the new M3/4 is supposed to be awesome.

I had a E36 M3 and the steering on that was by far the best ever. So precise, sharp and great feel of what the tires were doing.

Then about a year into owning the car BMW had a safety recall to reinforce something with the steering column. (encase of a crash my legs would be less broken) When I got the car back somehow the sharpness and precision was muted.

After working with the technician he was able to make a few adjustments and bring back some of the feel, but it was never as sharp as before. Unfortunately, they wouldn't undue the modification..

The E92 M3 was also very good but it is always be difficult to compare the cars from the past. They all weighed much less and things were more mechanical. Now I drive a 2011 E90 Msport Performance Edition with Active Steering and its nice but you don't feel as connected as in any of the M3's.

Saddly, I think those days are over. Get used to the digital age.

Yep, there is definitely a slight illusion going on there with the tires. But it does show off the rear bumper, diffuser, and exhaust in a much better light from that lower angle.

Also a Russian review with a few new pictures(including frame/driveline) and videos, probably the harshest take on the car yet. The steering is labeled numb, the car tends to understeer too much, brake fade is very apparent after just two laps on the track, and the ride is harsh(comment made for Russian roads). The motor is the only thing that received praise(power delivery and sound is excellent.)
