Why the hate from the 1addicts
For fun I wanted to see what the 1 series owners thought of the 2 series,
I went over on the forum and searched m235i and started reading a few threads and I was surprised to see all the hate of the 2er. Although our cars got relatively good reviews across the experts, The 1ers hate the look and the biggest complaint was the electric power steering felt numb and most would never trade their e82. I'm coming from an M roadster, although I miss the light nimble car,I feel my m235i is superior. Your thoughts? |

Same goes with E9x M3 owners describing F8x. I think it's mainly a matter of justifying their car buying decision. Some enthusiasts are territorial when it comes to their beloved cars.
The pissing matches on these forums are entertaining, to me at least. Go check out a Mopar, Chevy, or Ford forum. Those guys are over the top with their tunnel vision.

Oddly, however, there was some negativity toward BMW - from a 135i owner! http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/show...s550-3840.html |

It's mostly because of the notion everyone believes the car they drive is superior to everyone elses car. I can honestly say though one of my buddies has one of the quickest stock turbo 135s in our area and he said my 235 is basically a perfected version of his car. So some 1 series owners respect our cars and some are probably jealous they don't have one which causes some hate. At the end of the day we all have some nice ass cars and could be doing alot worse for ourselves haha

Haters gon' hate. Everyone on here with a 2er knows they have a great car. I don't think I'll ever warm up to the 435i in the same way that fell in love with my E92, but I'm not going to say it's a lesser car.

I have an M235i (which I love like my own son), but test drove a 135is early last year and man it was good. I held out for the 2 series... but if I could choose between the two today, with both being brand new .. I really think I would be driving a different car.

I spend some time on 1addicts and see very little bickering about the design. Most complaints are about the steering feel but lets be honest it is numb when compared to the E82. Design of course goes to the 2er but that can be subjective because everyone has different tastes.

As someone who came from a 135i, they are right on the steering feel. I preferred how the 1 felt. In every other way though I prefer the 2. Thats my 2 cents.

Traded my 2012 128 for my 2014 228 Msport. Love/loved both cars. If the 128 had been a manual I'd still be driving it. My biggest regret, that big six sounded sooooooooo good,

I love my 2015 m235i, and I was gonna purchase a 135, but I'm glad I made the decision. Much more aggresive imo

Displays of hate, jealousy or displeasure are not limited to the 2-series or even to cars. It happens with almost anything - coffee to houses; clothing to landscaping. No matter your choice, you can bet someone will find fault with what you like. As far as I'm concerned, they go pound sand.
