Has anybody with a JB4 and catless DP taken their car for service? Since taking the JB4 out brings back the CEL has the dealer given you a tough time for having a CEL?

I removed my JB4 incase they need to do anything in regards to ECU work etc. You don't want making your service rep/tech's life hard.
I have an OBDII code reader and just clear the code before I pull up (which usually keeps the code off for about 50mi or so. I had my 10k required service done without a hitch. I would recommend looking at your local service advisors online and call them without giving out information and ask them how simple mods are handled such as downpipes in regards to standard service and judge their response. I did this and I said I have an Intake/Downpipe installed with no CEL and want to know if it would be ok. He explained to me that it's fine however if you bring it in for warranty work such as blown turbo's or engine issues that the car should be bone stock because at that point it is treated like an insurance claim for the dealership. I hope this helps, let me know if you need anything else. |

Milkee_0923 - Saw you live in Vegas, I just moved to Summerlin. I just had my 10K done at the Sahara BMW not too long ago. I have a tech there that I chose, I'll give you his name via PM if you'd like. I can give you tips on a hopeful pain free experience if you'd like.
Let me know. |

If you don't want a tune, you can use "BMS OBDII CAN Module" to auto clear code.

I use my OBD2 Link (scan tool) too with free app obdlink or torque pro or dash command to read or clear codes.

my buddy has catless down pipe + remus exhaust and he took off his jb4 due to melting battery cables and other issues, so he got the RC which doesn't tap into canbus so he got the obdlink lx and the app to clear, also has an option to auto-clear it.

????? anyone??? feel like I would be going back to my old school Honda days of o2 simulators when I was running race headers lmfao.... Who thinks this would work??? I think it might be just the same and wire right into your sensor eliminating the CEL we all hate! |

Jb4 is your best bet. on top of auto clearing the CEL code, it takes full advantage of catless downpipes and gives you maximum safe power.
If for some reason you do not want to get the JB4, i recommend you pick the BMS Can flap module. You can use it to clear the code + control exhaust valves.

Right now I am using my P3 vent gauge to clear any codes that come up. Surprisingly it worked and am very happy with that function! Honestly have no issues with the exhaust valves how they are now so more so was looking at the o2 simulator for a permanent fix. If I do tune I will probably stay with a stage 1, I do not want to mod the car further nor do I want to continue to add more cables to keep my P3 functions and what not. I think a stage 1 with fewer connectors like the BMS stage 1 or AFE scorcher are better geared for me in this specific case.

Fabspeed catted dp but it threw a CEL within 50 miles. Currently waiting for a solution or recommendation in the next step from them since they guaranteed and I have have been part of a select few who have had a secondary 02 sensor code thrown, again mine just being within 50 miles of driving. I figured I could just use the o2 sensor simulator to clear the CEL because I honestly didn't want to go Jb4 route at all, Ever. Which leads me to where I am at now.... I am fine with the CEL only temporarily until I can find a fix due to P3 code clearing on demand and the car is my weekend cruiser. Really waiting for what fabspeed has to say and if they want me to try a new sensor to see if that one fails and gives me a code as well... pretty sure I have a fine and working sensor since the car only has barely 2,000 miles on it and at this point I really don't want to rip the dp out to replace it with a new one even though I was initially told they would cover against the cat defect inside. My case is a different code and sensor related and not catalyst failure related.
