ease of BMS N55 Stage 1 removal

How easy is it to remove the BMS Stage 1 tune if i needed to bring my car into service? Not interested in dealership flagging my car and canceling my warranty....

Was considering Dinan tune, but less HP for more $$$. I understand they'll still flag me, but at least Dinan covers whatever is affected by their stuff.

It pops on and off in less than 2 minutes. Great gains too for such a simple install.

I think the most annoying part about it is removing the neg batt cable each time and having to reset some things........the rest is so easy

I am not selling mine...I just installed it
I think what gets reset is the travel/gas/consumption info, date & time and some of the settings you change from s=default. Not really that much to make it an issue for most

Do you really need to disx the battery?

From my experience only need to wait for car to go into sleep mode before installing?

The two sensor piggyback units are very easy to install/remove. Play it safe and always disconnect the negative battery terminal prior. Seems there a many choices on the market for our cars. I will be giving the RaceChip Ultimate a go next month just to compare against the others I have used.

You should be fine with that if you're just taking it in for service. It's better to take it off of course but I got away with it just fine.

yeah... i mean that's the main reason why i'm not going with JB4... i wanted something easy to remove for service. Seeing how the car only has ~ 3500 miles, not too keen on potentially throwing away my warranty because of some over-zealous service advisor. Was considering Dinan, but shoot... it's $$$$$$$

Shoot me a PM, I know a couple good SA's in the area. I believe you're in the valley right?

On a side note, when I took my car in for service, I didn't know if the particular SA I was with was mod friendly or not, either way I didn't get hassled for it and I think you won't either.

Also when we gonna meet up man lol, your car looks good!

It's me who's selling the BMS stage 1. I'm selling because I got the JB4.

I see you're from Northridge. Charlie Kim @ McKenna BMW will take care of you. He is very mod friendly - I recently took my JB4, downpipe, intake M235i into service and he did not mind at all. I too was skeptical at first.. Wondering if I should remove my mods, but I now know I don't have to!

Regarding the battery disconnect, you don't have to.. I didn't for either the Stage 1 or JB4

For the guys that have the Stage 1 tune and live were the best fuel is 91 Octane.

How much different is this over stock on your M235??

Is the car as smooth and well mannered as stock?

Throttle and Transmission response the same?

Thanks guys.
