Waiting to be assigned to a ship
Finally finished production and now she's waiting to be picked up by the carrier. Looking at the ship schedules, if it made it on the next available ship, the soonest it would be here is Dec 1. Ugh. There are two ports it could come into. Driving-wise, they are both the same distance from the dealer, so I don't know which one they use. One adds 3 days by the ship though!
So Dec 1 if I'm super lucky, plus transport to the dealer and all that jazz. No one in my life understands my pain like you guys do, so thanks for letting me post my irrelevant updates to complete strangers. |

I feel your pain. I finally gave up talking to friends and family about it they couldn't relate so I vented here and stalked BMWNA every day for weekes.
Once it gets on a ship you'll be super excited and then the best part is getting that call from your CA and picking up the car. I promise it's worth the wait |

I completely understand your pain...
Ordered in July - originally the deal was that I should have had delivery by Sept. 30. Added the MP Exhaust and a couple of small options in Aug. and was told when I signed the updated offer that it would now be the end of November because the plant was focusing on xDrive models and not the RWD 6MT that I ordered. My car got to Halifax at the end of October and was released last week. Now I'm sitting by the phone, waiting for the call from my dealer to tell me they have the car and my tint and gloss black grilles are done... But the good news is that I should have a good couple of days of driving it before I have to get the winter tires installed - so I guess there's that, right? Right? |

Ahem... maybe that polar vortex should be gone by then? BTW - how can one determine the name of the next vessel leaving Bremerhaven? I know the Elektra just left port - and my car wasn't on it. It's now sitting there with StephanieDiane's waiting. |

If you call BMWNA they should be able to tell which vessel your car is assigned to. Mine wasn't assigned yet, but I was "guesstimating" based on the schedule. Of course, even when I find out the ship, I don't know which port it's going to. I suppose I should call the dealer....

Basically I was hoping someone would know if ships leave the port every couple days or every couple weeks. The last one out was the Elektra on 11/8. |

If you have your VIN, have you put it into the Cargo ID text box? |

Yes, I bought my floor liners from WeatherTech, Roundel stem caps and all season tires, a license plate holder from BMWCCA and a Passport Max2 radar detector. From time to time I go out to the garage and fondle floor liners and tires and ride around in my wife's 428 with the Radar detector. All that helps get you through it.

Mine was finally loaded on the Brasilia Highway, which is a K Line ship, so all that stalking I did on the WW line to fuel my OCD didn't help. Can't get the voyage or status details, but marinetraffic.com helps when it's in range. It should be dropped off in Brunswick Dec 3, with pickup at my dealer the next week. I can barely sleep due to the excitement. I don't know why other women don't appreciate the awesomeness of cars. And yes, awesomeness is a real word.
