Week 49 Production.......

After a few calls to BMW Canada I finally got a production week, week 49 to be exact I'm going to track the progress from order to delivery. I'll update the steps as new info comes in from BMW and other sources.

Signed Paperwork Oct 21st/14
Production Week 49 Dec 1st/14 -Dec 7th/14
Starting Production Dec 4th/14
Finished Production Dec 11th/14
At the Port Dec 14th/14
On Ship Dec 17th/14 Departed Port on the Faust
Halifax Jan 3rd/15
Concord Rail Yard Jan 14th/15
Dealer Jan 15th/15
Picked Up Jan 23rd/15

So for my car it took 98 days or 14 weeks from order to delivery.

Not sure on your estimates so I'll let others chime in on that but I wanted to say hi since we both have week 49 production.

Congrats on your new car. As far as the estimates its hard because everything is different for everyone, west coast deliveries are longer than east coast and depending on when your oreder was made.

My 2015 228i xi was like this

Order made Aug 16
Order received Aug 16
Production number given Aug 16
Production began Sept 1
Production complete September 10
Car arrived at port September 15
Car delivered to NY October 9
Car arrived at dealer October 15
Car picked up by me Octobr 18

Been loving and enjoying every second of having this beautiful machine in my driveway ever since and even though the wait was torture it was really worth every second

The wait is killing me! I guess I should have just taken one off the dealers lot. The problem with that would have been that everything in the area came with the auto tranny plus I didn't want all the gadgets and gizmos that most dealers order. I ordered my 228i with the M sport package, manual tranny, estoril blue with track and performance package. For the first time in my life I wish time would fly by a little faster.

Mine too, SO excited. You're kidding about the 2 -3 months right! My dealer told us his estimate for handing me the keys would be "early January".

I'm estimating at least 2 months from now to get to California. I have no idea how long it takes for sure but I figure I won't be dissapointed this way. Does anyone know what the typical time is getting to the California Port? Also I'm assuming it will be in port longer than normal since I'm having the LSD and other MP parts installed. Eventually I'll have it..... I'm more patient than most. Part of being a middle aged guy. Gotten use to waiting for the finer things at this point in my life.

I was patient too, but you may find that gets to be harder than you think. My car took 10 days from end of production to get to the port and it's been at the port now for 7 days without being assigned to a ship. Also coming to CA...EVENTUALLY! If my MINI is any indication, it's about three weeks after the ship leaves port to get to Port Hueneme.
