Wrong post!!! NOT Electric 2-series spotted in the US, it was a 1-series...

Hi all,

I'm on vacation in the US, and a few days ago we spotted a trailer with 6-7 BMW 2-series with "E-drive" badges.

The cars had no exhaust or tailpipes. It also looked like it was different around the rear diff area.

Does anybody know anything about this car?

My son managed to take a few photos that I will try to upload later.

I guess they want to use it to gather data on electric car usage in Norway like they did here... Norway does not get the i3?

I had a chance to drive one of those at an event in NYC. Definitely a 1 Series. The regen braking was a bit much for me and I got out after a couple of blocks already carsick!

Guess you haven't driven the i3. That car hardly needs a brake pedal. During press events and CA product training they would ask the driver to attempt to drive the car on open road without using the brake pedal. Most managed...

Was offered but turned it down a few weeks ago at the dealer. I can see how one-pedal driving would be feasible, but that's the furthest thing from my idea of a good time behind the wheel.

I liked it. I wanted to get my gf to drive it cause she drives a Prius and god I hate that thing. I wouldn't get one for myself, but I wouldn't be mad driving it every now and then. Instant torque is fun even if this isn't anything like the neck snapping Tesla Model S.

I understand, but please realize I don't even want a car that can be driven with two pedals! I'm thinking in my lifetime, I may reach the point where there's nothing I really want anymore.

It was spotted in the US, not Norway.

We have tons of electric cars in Norway. For a couple of months the best selling car has been the Tesla Model S... (due to no taxation whatsoever on EV's over in Norway). Nissan Leaf and i3 are big sellers as well.
