Is it possible to BRIGHTEN your ANGEL eyes at night?

As Title says, Was very curious to see if this is possible... Not long ago i saw a plug-in flap that opens exhaust & brightens the angel eyes...

Anything else or any other ways of doing this?

Ya it's possible by coding. I think by default the angel eyes are at 50% brightness when the low beams are on, you can code it to max brightness! It really makes a difference

I don't think so. You can get in contact with pikcachu or Frogman for help on coding

Check the coding subforum. There are a few people that offer remote coding for a fee. While you're at it check out what else can be done. Might as well get a few things tweaked while someone is in there.

One thing to keep in mind is that I think you'll loose settings if you take your car in for service and they flash the ECU. However, you can request that they don't. I'm going to learn how to code myself so I can redo my settings just in case the dealer disregards my request.

I had my F30 coded for 3 years and that included software updates, none of which ever erased the coding. The nature of typical BMW updates should not impact your coding, and if it does there are lots of guys around who can do it for you or teach you how to do it yourself.

Ah, good to know. In the coding forum I saw people recommend not letting the dealer touch the ecu. Seemed like a legit thing to me. :/ Like you said though, learn to do it yourself and you can make changes any time that you want.

The plug in flap is the BMS can flap module im assuming and it does increase Halo brightness + other cool features

0: Undefined/Unused.
1: Active Sound MUTE - Flap Open*
2: Active Sound MUTE - Flap Closed*
3: Boost gauge on fuel, scaling 0-20psi, active > 5psi
4: OBDII Diagnostic Code Delete
5: LED HALO Max Brightness at Night

Another method would be coding

It's actually 8% when either parking lights or low beams are on at night.... during day they are 100%

100% looks awesome at night...
you can pretty much drive with the parking lights on alone

You need the software cable and pay someone to do it
It might be a better investment to just get the BMS canflap module and do it yourself + take advantage of all the extra features

We've all been there man. Take a day to read the coding subforum. There's a cheatsheet thread that's super long, but filled with a ton of information. There's also a video in the first post of that thread showing how to code. In the subforum there are at least two dudes offering remote coding. They can walk you through the process if you decide to go that route. Don't be afraid to ask questions. That's pretty much all I do lol. They're probably pretty basic questions, but I don't mind asking AFTER I've done a search. I will necropost too if my search only gets me part of the way there.

I don't have my car yet, but I went ahead and downloaded the coding software just to get myself familiar with the tool. Even when i do get my car I plan on driving it for a bit before I code anything, but I will pretty much immediately connect the laptop to my car just to pull down files and see what all is there and get familiar with looking at values. I'm guessing that I'll make it about 3 or 4 days and then I'll code at least one thing. The temptation will be too much to resist.

if you have a garage is fairly easy...

close the garage door till it's dark and turn your parking lights, they will be at 8%.

open the garage door till there is enough light for the car to believe it's day and they will go to 100%

You might just get a $20 cable and do it yourself... you can read more in the DIY coding forum section... it's well explained

I found that when the angel eyes are too bright at night they end up looking like one big blur and it just blends in together. The sweet spot was 50% for me. It is a huge upgrade from the 8%. I recommend you to look from a distance after you finish to determine if that's what you want.

Very informative posts! Thanks guys!

I think i'd probably do what ^ said and do 50%, It's only lacking abit imo with the 8% so i think 50% would actually be really good.

Will definitely try it at night but! Just to work out how im gonna do this now hahaha
