Got my m235i in December. Haven't seen a single 2 series, but often I see a beautiful black m6 and an estoril blue m3 in the neighborhood.

In 1 year of ownership outside of a 2 series meet and dealerships, I've only ever spotted 2 other M235i on the road (and one of them is one of the guys from the meets too) and both of them were in my small town. The 2 series is really a low volume car as there are only 2 other 228i sightings to add to my 2 M235i ones. Its really surprising as this area is just swarming with BMW and every other luxury brand in every different segment as the 2 series just seems to stay below the radar in both variants. Its nice to have a car that makes people say now thats something I don't see all the time. It seems like even the previous 1 series sold at a higher rate than the 2 series in my unscientific observations.

I've had mine for 3 months, but have been on the lookout for 2 Series for about the past 9 months. I've seen exactly 1 on the road - at least I think it was a 2 series - it was a distance away and I only saw it for a second or two.

In the same time, I've seen maybe half a dozen 1 series cars, and every time I see one I'm so glad I got the 2 series instead. That is, except for the 1M I saw in my brother's friend's garage when he introduced the two of us - now that is a pretty cool car.

Understandably, not many people know what the M235i is when they see it. One guy at a recent car meet asked me if it cost about $30K. I wish...

I'll toss my unscientific observation and theory out there too..And that the reason for lack of sightings is not exclusivity (in the classic sense) but rather that the 2 is a niche vehicle with limited appeal among the North American buyer (and maybe Canadian too).

Its not a popular or well known BMW except among us enthusiasts and car rags..Not that there is anything wrong with that

I'm in Miami and I've only seen about 7 m235i's in the past year. 228s I have seen about 15. Most of them have the sport kit so it's harder to tell when driving until I see the back

From May 2014 to May 2015, I think I saw three total in the wild. Sadly (for me), I've seen 4-5 in the past two months, 3 of them M235s. However, my only consolation is that I have not a seen a single Valencia Orange one except mine (that includes dealers), and a search on Autotrader reveals only 3 within 500 miles and they are all convertibles.

You need to paint the wheels black to match the grill plus it will look more sporty as the 2 beside has to much bling going on.

I'm between Broward and Miami all the time and haven't spotted anywhere near as many. Fort Lauderdale, SoBe, Wynwood, Midtown, rarely any sightings. Saw one by chance this past Saturday at the Shoppes of Pembroke. My parking garage at home in Hollywood has an M4 I get to admire every day though, a 650i and a few older 3 series as well.

I've seen a "possible" in Switzerland (not sure as I didn't have time for a proper look and he'd removed all badges from the rear), not a single one in France (plenty of 1 coupes), and one in Dubai. That's all and I've been looking for a year !

I know there are some here in the Charlotte area but I never see them...... I see way more M3/M4's

I drove from San Diego to Vancouver Canada and back and I have not seen a single one on the road.

I see the majority of the 228s in the West Kendall area. The 235i's that I've seen have all been in either downtown, the beach, or South Miami area.

Had mine also for 14 months in Columbia, SC and have not seen a single one on the road. I saw one getting the oil changed at an independent Eurowerks car shop and I saw the same white M235 months later parked again at Kroger's a couple blocks away. The weird thing is the owner lives close to me but have never seen them on the road and have not seen another 2 series on the road.
