M Performance Parts Tacky?
Does anyone else here think that the M Performance Parts are seriously tacky? When the M performance line first came out for the E90, they had some really cool stuff. The Performance Wheels (style 313?) looked very expensive and extremely tasteful. The new black wheels with silver accents for the F3x and F2x are seriously gross. My friend had blaque diamond wheels on his G35, and they really remind me of those....also think that fake carbon fiber is tacky, cheap, and played out. It was played out in 2008. The only thing I like out of the whole catalague is the steering wheel, LSD, and exhaust (the exhaust is FANTASTIC!). Does anyone else agree that the rest of the catalogue looks like it could be sold on eBay from venders who sell cheap junk?

I think some of them are. Like the skirts and the front lip. But that's my personal opinion. Some of the other parts like the diffuser, or the steel pedals look incredible. I also think the oem exhaust pipes are much better looking than MPerf
Many would say the M badges on the side are tacky to. Its personal preference, if you don't like them don't install them. I don't like to criticize other peoples choices regardless of my desire for a completely stock looking clean vehicle... |

The carbon fiber is real, well some might be reinforced with plastic but its top notch...not sure what you're talking about

Damned if you, damned if you don't. If BMW didn't offer them we (the enthusiast community) would most likely criticize them for it. Now that they do, some folks don't like what they offer... Some are to my taste and some aren't but I'm glad they offer us choices and the ability to customize with OEM quality build.

Black grills do look good, but I dont want my brand new $50,000 car to have carbon fiber mirrors like all the ricer kids in my area with BMWs...

Everyone has there own opinion ,I think the full body kit they do can be a bit to much for me and other cosmetic bits expensive but one of the reasons I bought my m235i was the wheels that made it different and stand out from the others for sale and as their forged are lighter and stronger than cast wheels, so not just for looks. I would say that they suit some colours more than others but black wheels are getting popular in the UK I work for land rover and nearly every other car has black wheels we make. I had loads of great comments about my car and especially the wheels but the world would be boring if we all liked the same things.

If it's real carbon fiber what's the difference between your new bmw and their old one having it?

This is a purely subjective matter.
Why do we each have the car? I am looking for a fun daily driver. Some is tacky, some is not. I like some, I don't like others. I won't buy any of it. IND cosmetic package: black grilles, painted front and rear reflectors, and black mirror caps for 280 bucks. Can't go wrong. |
