B58 Stage 2+

Hi guys, I hope you are fine.

I'm writing you from Argentina, and I'm the happy owner of a 240i M package. 2017, 15200 miles aprox.

Car is stock and I'm going to a stage 2+. In Argentina is impossible to find accesories and tuning pieces but now I have a friend in miami and she is going to bring me the pieces.

Mi idea is:

MHD or BM3 Stage 2+
XHP Stage 3
VRSF 4,5 catted downpipe
B58TU HPFP
Short Ram/Boxed Intake

Meth is not an option for me so I think this is the best I can get from the vehicle with the stock turbo.

I'm in the correct way? Is there something better to do?

About the HPFP:
I have read the entire forum and I understand that the b58TU HPFP is enough for my objetives, the dorch2 is necessary for methanol or big turbo and the dorch 1 is similar to the b58tu HPFP but more expensive.

About de Intake
VR performance or AFE power or other? Short RAM or boxed intake?
Are they similar in performance? I like the sound of the short ram but I don't know what the experience with dirt inside the engine.

I know some topics have already been discussed but I only have one chance to order and I don't want to make a mistake.

Thank you very much to all!

Best regards,

On the hpfp.. don't go bm3 if you only use the TU pump and using e50. If it's just pump gas them it's fine.

You want a closed box Intake for power.

I recommend an open intake with a heat shield for the best airflow sound and to keep the temps in check.

Perfect, meth is not an option for me, so B58TU is enough. Thanks!

Mike, you say that an open intake vs. an inbox intake has the same performance if I use a heat shield? Any pics? I'm looking de VR and in the kit there is a "heat shield" but it looks poor or insufficient. Any additional idea?

Thank so much both!

On stock turbo, the performance is the same regardless of your intake type.
When you upgrade the turbo, you will get more from the open intake since it has a higher flow. The heat shield helps reduce the air temp so you get the best of both worlds.

Note that the difference between the intakes will not be significant so I would spend too much time overthinking which one to get.
