Beeping noise from engine

Today when I turned off my M240i I heard a beeping noise coming from the front part of the car. Sure enough when I open the hood I can hear a loud beeping noise coming from an engine area. The beeping stoped after about 10 minutes. What can this be?

I am assuming you don't have any piggyback tunes plugged in, if so, my guess is the alarm speaker possible having a electrical shorting. That is only other part that might possible 'beep,' under the hood. Good luck.

Thank you for the suggestion. The car has not been modified. I guess since this does not sound like it could be a normal behavior I will have to take it to the dealer.

Had that happen to me also. I took a video of it, but now I can't find it. It stopped after I turned it back on and hasn't happened since as far as I know.

I did take the video, but I do know how to post it here.

My 2016 VW GTI does the same thing and my Subarus did something similar. I was told by the dealer that it has to do with emissions control on the Subaru. On the GTI I believe it is the oil pump that cools down the turbo but I'm not positive
