Car guys who wish for a car girl for a wife or girlfriend might want to read 230iZTR's post first. The potential problem is that they not only have opinions, they may have strong, useful, and accurate opinions.

My dealer's SA, a woman who ice-raced in Alaska before moving down to the Lower 48 (i.e., she's a car girl/woman), suggested politely that the yellow M Performance Brake Kit calipers would have been a better look for my Estoril Blue car than the orange calipers I chose. She had a point, and while I didn't disagree, I did question the color when viewed online, which was the only view I had available to me at the time. Her not being my wife or gf, it was a good exchange.

My preference is for the SO who has only one comment, over and over again: "It costs HOW MUCH!?!" In this household, you might think that after a few decades a different tune would be playing, but...nooooooooo.

For sure. She's right, but I'll probably do it eventually anyway. I surrendered on subtlety when I put the classic Bavarian Motor Works windshield banner on so I might as well embrace the flamboyant style with stripes and an M3 GTS wing. But then again, her shit-talking is a little ironic because she drives a slammed and stickered Prius.

I'm gonna do the LSD and subframe bushings first. All my dumb ricer stuff is far from top of the priority list.

Funny (sort-of) story...until just a few years ago, I'd been living in Southern NH for a couple of decades and traveled to VT quite a bit. Prius' were thick on the ground in VT, and I swear this is true: the only cars I ever saw pulled over for speeding were Priuses. That was a coincidence, of course, but I found it hilarious every time I witnessed it, thinking that there was indeed justice in the universe. It was no wonder, as the typical Prius I saw was banging 80+ in the left-hand lane, and the troopers were waiting in all the usual spots. It was like the Prius drivers were clueless as to how the don't-get-a-ticket game worked.
