As someone who has researched this extensively, I can chime in with some helpful information. The cost to retrofit the rear of an M2 is going to be to the magnitude of $4500 plus paint and labor. That includes the entire rear subframe piece, bumper, diffuser, wheel well liner, brackets, etc. So probably $7k since labor involves cutting out the old panel and welding the new one in. The front fenders are more reasonable and much easier to do - I can't remember exactly but it is around $2k. Plus the cost of the front bumper, brackets, air dams... So lets just say $2k for the front bumper. Add in the side skirts, exhaust (because M2 has quad pipes), and other odds and ends, you're looking at no more than $12k to make the conversion. Oh, plus wheels and tires.

As for the m235i racing wide body, that's $8k-$9k in parts plus paint an labor, so around the same price as an m2 conversion. Plus wheels and tires.

M2 prices are starting to fall, wait a little and just buy the m2 if that's what you want.

For me, I am perfectly happy with my m240i but was just trying to think of ways to fit more rubber in for the track and run a square set up. None of those "solutions" above really fit the bill for me. Also, as others have mentioned, aside from the cost, I didn't want to drive an M2 look alike. They honestly aren't special enough to make an homage plus I don't like the fangs.

But, I don't think it's fair to shame the OP for wanting to have a car that looks like an M2. There are plenty of you out there with the replica wheels, m2 exhaust, and other bit and pieces...

Just buy a M240i, it's better than a fake M2
iirc it's the size of the petrol engines that make the purchase expensive, not the cars themselves. So to that point, if you can afford a 240 in Portugal, you can most likely afford the M2.

Nothing wrong with making a car your own. That being said, adding the body parts would be IMO prohibitively expensive. I do like the wide look of the M2 and wish I could have ordered that body kit as a option when I ordered my M240i.

In your case, I'd add wheels and maybe some CF winglet mirror caps for yours and be done with it.

If you want add some aftermarket "M Performance " floor mats and "M" seat belt pads, do it. Your car, enjoy it.

You can do anything you want, it will be your car. Do not let anyone else tell you what you should do.

You CAN add front bumper for M2 to a 220D and any series 2 model, yes a few mods and paint if necessary. the rear diffuser would be the only thing you need to change if you want a dual exhaust system. If you had to change the whole rear of the 220D then you would need to go wider as the M2 is wider. But not on the front, as bumper fits fine.

Side skirting would be another great upgrade.

I have seen many Youtube video's of the conversions, so have a look there as this would help you out a lot.

Internally there are a few things that can be done depending what your 220D comes, as you can retrofit a M2 Automatic Gear Shifter box to replace the stock one, shiters, panels and if you want to go all out then the M2 Seats.

Totally upi to you as siad, do not listen to the hatters. It is your car.

Don't want to be like this guy.
Is that an Altima?

In Australia we don't have a diesel option for the 2 coupe. I may be biased but my 230i m sport looks pretty neat as it comes, the only exterior thing I'd like to see would be single left & right exhaust exits. . .
