2014s didn't have the THP term but offered the same options separately which I have. I have the stock BMW wheels (sans ferric grey). I was just stating it's the same thing as a 2015 with THP for a simple weight comparison.

3260 is pretty good. I think the manual seats and no roof are major factors to your cars relatively light weight. I'm still waiting for my M235i and I'm positive it will weigh more than your car, but I hope it's at most 3400ish lbs.

For me, I don't think I needed any more performance than this car can deliver. It's a joy to drive all the time - slow or fast. |

This is from GSR Autosport. It was from a base 228i model but the numbers should be the same. Remember it's just a dyno and the numbers are all relative. But these are pretty spot on with what I've seen with other N20 dynos. It seems 233hp/253lbs to the wheels is typical. So definitely underated. I added in a simple JB stage 1 and calculated (not dynoed) 260-265hp/285-290lbs to the wheels. At the crank thats 290hp/330lbs.
So at that weight yes it's a pretty fun car with or without the tune |

yeah that weight is within a stones throw of the E36 M3, and the N20 is ALOT more motor than the 240hp it claims. Being very familiar with the S52 myself, and using it as the 240hp/240tq benchmark; every N20 I've driven is much much more.
EDIT: the point of my post is that I'm eye-balling the 228i and thinking the 235 and M2 may not be worth it to me... |
