2017 M240xi longevity

I have a 2017 M240xi convertible that I love to drive and intend to keep. I have 103k on the odometer and have had no problems. Any trouble spots that others have had as the mileage goes up?

the B58 is significantly more robust than the outgoing N55. i would mostly be worried about other aspect of the car. 20K miles per year average is pretty damn high so im gonna assume its mostly highway. The B58 still has a plastic charge pipe and turbo inlet pipe from memory like the N55. those plastic pipes tend to crack overtime.

Perhaps look into upgrading to aluminium charge pipes and turbo inlet.

i'm approaching 100K miles on my 228ix...different motor than yours...but i've been doing oil changes every 5K miles since i hit 60K miles.

that said, it looks like i'll be doing the timing chain very soon since i've noted some slack in the chain on my last oil change.

Today's cars are both much more durable and much more complex than those of 20 years ago. Yes, wear will inevitably lead to some part giving way, but the complexity means that it is very difficult to predict which one or when. The best measure is to put some funds aside for the inevitable moment when whatever breaks down will do so.
And at some point, given the high cost of repair, you must be prepared to walk away.
