2017 M240

Hi all,

My first post here so please bear with me...

My dealer has a 2017 M240 xdrive coming in by end of July. Couple of questions -
1. Getting 7% off MSRP and 2k discount for loyalty and some OL code. Does that sound like a good deal?
2. Planning to get 19" wheels which the dealer is offering for dealer price and free mounting. How does that sound? Or should I get the wheels from somewhere else? Also does anyone know which are the widest OEM 19" wheela that will fit this car.

Appreciate any help on this.

Thanks.

Sounds like a good price, based on what I paid for my 2015. 19" means mighty small sidewalls. Might be better off with Michelin PSS in stock size.

I believe 7% but not 7% +2K... they are probably inflating the msrp. Mind sharing?

Agree...7% beats the deal I had (6%). Also agree that I would not shrink the tire sidewall, especially in the OP's area. I started with 18" and went to 17", based on quality of area roads.

It's 7% off MSRP + $2k(loyalty+ OL code). I looked at the pricing guide http://www.bmwusanews.com/documentlist.do?&docListId=66) and matches what's on the car.
1. Black Dakota leather(1450)
2. Cold weather package (700)
3. Driver assistance(950)
4. Navigation(1950)
5. HK sound (875)

I'd say that's a very good deal, after taking the extra $2k off it's nearly 11% off MSRP on a 2017 car.. Truecar shows on average 7% off MSRP for the 2016's as a good negotiated deal, but the extra $2k makes it really good in my books.

I got a 10% off msrp with all of those packages on my 2017 m240i. I know people who have gotten further discounts for knowing the right people at the dealership. Seems like a good deal to me!

Yeah, it all depends on the quality of your roads. I've read several threads where owners went to 19's and barely noticed a difference in DD conditions. I've got 19's on the way myself, but out here in Germany they keep the roads up pretty good!!

Yes, you are correct, as I recall from visiting and taking a MB C Class for a 120+mph drive on the autobahn! But here, it can be like driving on the moon! Bent rims ahead!

That sounds like a good deal. Good to know that they'll be hitting dealerships soon.

Anyone have any idea when the US website configurator will be updated to reflect the M240?

Not sure but the copy of the vehicle report has the same codes as the PDF in the link.

7% sounds good, better than what I was offered (4% off MSRP). What was your final price relative to invoice price?

19" are sweet looking but unless the roads are carpet smooth, I wouldn't do it.
I would try to keep the side wall to 40% if possible (225/40/18")
The '40' basically tells you how much rubber you have in side wall (relative to the wheel size). I think 40 is already very aggressive.

No on the 19s! Once you drive it with MPSS you will understand

I'm looking at a TT for a weekend toy with 19" and 35 rubber. That will be the first thing to go.

Quick update - Took delivery of this bad boy couple of weeks ago. And it exceeds my expectation. Have been travelling and super busy at work, so dont have time for a decent review. But here is my first impression - I had 2007 335i with sports package and compared to that the ride is so much smoother. The default mode, comfort has everything for everyday driving. I test drove m235 few times but 240 is definitely different. The torque is far more superior and you can feel it. also love the engine sound.... more later....

I need to learn how to negotiate. My dealership is trying to offer me $1,130 off a fairly stripped M240 with an MSRP of $47,720... Meaning like 2.3% off MSRP.

What do I say...? Give me 7% off or I walk away?

Oh - forgot to mention a $1,000 "rebate", so I guess 4.46% savings.

Tell him you're soliciting offers from a couple dealers and are going to buy from the one that offers best price
