Anybody have the M Sport Pedals?
New owner, I was looking at these.
Questions for anyone who has bought and installed them. 1. How do they mount? Any drilling? 2. Do they replace the rubber press-on's ? Or install on top? 3. I'd like to increase the height of the brake pedal. Does the M sport pedal do this, or is it exactly the same height? Thanks! |

http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showt...t=pedal+covers 1. Yes, there is drilling. And contrary to what the poster in the link above said, I used a 19v cordless drill and had no issues whatsoever. I drilled smaller pilot holes first using a good sharp bit. 2. For the clutch and brake pedals, you remove the original rubber covers and replace with the ones supplied in the kit. The throttle pedal cover goes on top of the OEM pedal, sticking on with double-sided tape and a couple screws. 3. I think the height is about the same. It's not adjustable - it's whatever the height of the replacement rubber cover is. The entire job took me less than an hour, and I was very fussy - double-checking prior to drilling, filing the burrs, etc.

As others have said, its about an hour job. I had a little trouble with the brake pedal and fitting the nuts behind the pedal for the machine screws - it's steel, whereas the clutch pedal is some type of ABS plastic. I have fat stubby fingers and short arms so reaching and doing the work was a bit tedious. I think they look good, but can't honestly say they are any more functional. Like many mods, it's more of an aesthetic thing. I also added the MP floor mats too like Dylan86's picture above.

The key is the sharp bit piece! I found it to be a PITA with the bits I had for the job. Also, getting the pilot hole started is difficult on the rounded pedal. Wish I would have rigged a way to use a punch to dimple the pedal. Would have made the job much easier.

I'd definitely recommend the Sport Pedals. I think it has a way more appealing look than the black when you hop in. That alone warrants the price for years to come! haha!

I usually do not cheap out, but the fact that holes needed to be drilled really turned me off to the OEM ones. The eBay ones slip on nicely, and they have not moved in almost a year of use. |

All the sets I've looked at on eBay for the 8AT don't require removal of the existing rubber "pad" on the accelerator pedal; the new pedal is a rubber cover that slips on from the top. The rubber cover on my brake pedal comes off easily. I tested it last night...just before I, too, ordered my set from eBay.
