Staying tuned in on this, as I also have a Race 6" core to be installed along with the VRSF charge pipes/DP.

So my next.upgrade is fmic, and I'd like to go vrsf. my dilemma is that I am thinking about got pure stage two turbo down the road, but I may not.

Which would be a better scenario race intercooler and on stock turbo (FBO+e40) or street HD intercooler and then upgrading to (pure stage 2 + fbo)

I'm thinking my first option is the best and offers potential to expand.

I did 6" Race with room for opportunity down the road. I may also go PS 2 when the price is right. I think if your even contemplating PS2 you should go with the race.

Our intercooler works perfectly with the OEM chargepipe and the VRSF chargepipe. I can't confirm fitment with another companies product since we don't stock their parts but if the ER adapts to the OEM intercooler it will adapt to ours without a problem.

The intercooler we received back from the customer was damaged in shipping and the connectors were both out of round which is why I'm assuming it didn't fit the ER. We've sold dozens of these intercoolers to many customers who have ER chargepipes and they all fit without an issue. We've changed the way these are backed to ensure the product will arrive safe and sound no matter where we send them to.

We have brackets being made now to adapt the radiator fan and they'll be provided free of charge to anyone who's purchased a FMIC from us in the past. A future revsion of the intercooler will not require the extra brackets.

Do you have a projected date for the brackets and is there anything in the works for inlet side piping for our platform..? I am looking to install this in the next month or two.

No ETA for the brackets yet, maybe 3-4 weeks. The intercooler can be installed without an issue without them and they can easily be installed without having to remove the FMIC in the future.

We're working on a hot side pipe although to be honest it's not nearly as important as the cold side.

Tiago,

I'm considering getting the 6" race sometime in the next couple months. Should I wait for the new batch that will not need brackets? What is the function or them? Added stability/support?

The new batch won't be for a while. We have the 6" stepped version on a few race cars without the brackets and they're running fine.

The fan shroud is made of plastic and doesn't use a seal on the back of the FMIC or radiator. It's not absolutely necessary although future versions will have provisions.

It's not for stability or support, both the fan shroud and the intercooler are mounted independently. They aren't reliant on each other for support.

Wow, I'm fried...Still green with BMW in general, and my ignorance is showing a lot lately. This whole time I thought the charge pipe(s) were one for each side. I thought it'd be a bit short to complete the system for both sides, but now it all makes sense. I've never been under this car so I'm not too familiar with all of the IC plumbing, but now I get it. The CP's I ordered are for the TB side(cold side), and the Turbo outlet (hot) side is in the works. Makes TOTAL sense, now, lol

To top off a pretty intensive learning curve with the new car, my credit card is on fire, my car is still off the road for two months, and I have to explain to the ole lady why I've spent $3k on parts for a car that isn't even on the road right now! Oh boy, I need a drink
