Headlight Washers

I'm on my way to Phillip Island in my M235i to do the BMW M Dynamic Driving course and I stop to clean my windscreen with window cleaner and a micro fibre cloth. I then activate the windscreen washer and wipers. Just to rinse it off
Next thing I hear a different noise and there's water spraying on the headlights.
I didn't know it had headlight washers and I don't know how I activated them
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Headlight washers will come on if the headlights are on and pull the stalk to wash your windshield. If I remember correctly the headlight washers will activate the first (2) times you pull the lever and the headlights are on until the car is turned off. Then the sequence resets. If I think that the headlight washers are going to activate I'll turn the headlights to the off position and use them.

Interesting, thanks for the info. I'll check it out in the morning. Cheers!

You are right. They were standard on all 2014s but since then have been part of the cold weather package.

Don't know if it's an European or only a French requirement but in my country headlights washers are mandatory as soon as you have Xenon lights.

The washers go on every 3rd time you hit wash with the headlights on.

Close...it is every 5th time you pull the windshield washed stalk, it will spray the headlights...at least that's what I was taught at training.

Yeah, it's part of the cold weather package now, I just ordered heated seats instead. I don't like the holes that they have to make in the bumpers and I don't want detergent sprayed all over my car either.

Knew it was something like that ?. I went back and forth on whether or not to get the cold weather package when I order my M235i - in the end I love the heated steering wheel more than I dislike the washers.
