Just curious.. if I wanted my M235i to have the same exhaust note as the M2, what's my best option? My gut is that an M235i with M Performance Exhaust will still sound more tame than the M2, though I haven't compared directly.

How close can I get? M2 sounds amazing.

There are a whole lot of options out there to make the M235 sound loud and racy. The M2 come with a valve equipped quad exhaust so you might want to look into the quad options

Don't know why people suggest catless dp... Makes the car smells and not the biggest fan of the sound...

I think any cat-back exhaust is the way to go

Hmm, sounds like I need to learn the basics of exhausts. I don't know cat-back from valve from downpipe from ______.

Any brands that typically float the top of the list?

Typically because it provides an actual power gain and with installation, it is considerably cheaper than most cat back systems.

If you're concerned about smell go with a sport cat. Definite increase in sound and performance with little change in smell.

You will smell all the emissions not being taken out by the cat, it wont be constant but you will smell it.

While I don't wish hell on anyone, I agree cat-less is NOT the way to go.

To be honest you really don't know how the M2 sounds until you've heard it in person. Youtube videos typically don't portray the sound of exhaust tones exactly as they are. Think you are jumping the gun a bit and more want a quad exhaust that looks similar and just sounds better than the m235i currently does stock?

If so, go eisennmann but be ready to pay top doll hairs
