Cool Air Conditioner causing slight vibrations -- grr but Fixed!

Hi all,

Has anyone else experience this sensation? For the past week, my car has been, uh, vibrating for lack of a better word. I can feel it in the steering wheel, seat and floor at all speeds including idle. It sort of feels like there is a giant sub-woofer blaring under the seat (yes, I know there actually *is* a speaker there, but this feeling was much more pronounced that just some loud EDM beats and the sensation persists when the radio is off)

For the life of me, I couldn't figure out what it was. This morning I was determined to find the cause and after cycling the A/C on and off, the feeling went away!

Has anyone else heard of this? Should I be concerned?

Thanks!

If you're accurate in using the description of "blaring subwoofer" then I would bring the car it because no that does not sound normal.

You may have a damaged fan blade, seized compressor or some other issue which is causing the extra vibrations when the AC is on.

I would pop the hood while the compressor is running to see if you can spot anything that looks out of the ordinary. I have seen cars that have lost one of the plastic fan blades and as a result when the fan is running it is extremely off balance and vibrates like crazy.

Any advice for what I should look for? I have literally never opened the hood of a car before.

Then just take it to the dealer.

Yes, take it to your dealer. Your A/C does not sound like it is operating normally. I can't tell my A/C is running, except for the cool air coming through the vents. No vibes.
