What would be nice is to have a normal M235 next to one fitted with the optional exhaust to do some real world comparisons...

It would be nice to hear it in action vs idle revving it.

Can't really tell much difference here

Can anyone explain to me a couple of things. First of all as far as the exhaust what are all the different choices and what do they correspond to on the list. Also is the suspension worth it, what would it provide?

Standard exhaust - m performance tuned with black tips and not that loud (people say, but loud enough for me)

M performance exhaust - louder, chrome trims but still just back box and tips. Rest of exhaust is the same.

There is then the option to add the m4 carbon style covers to the chrome performance pipes but this is just a cosmetic add on

Thanks. But I mean on the list of options posted on page 1 of the thread there's like 5 different exhaust options and it looks like chrome tips is an option. So is the standard one the one with carbon tips?

I did but I'm looking for specifically what each option on that price sheet is. There's like 5 or 6 options all slightly different but I'm looking for a breakdown of what each is. Sorry. But I would appreciate if anyone would be able to help me with this.

Unless there is a more up to date source out there, the pricing breakdown posted shows 3 performance exhausts with 2 prices and 2 have the same description. Anyone care to shed some light on what the specific part number and cost is for the performance exhaust and the performance exhaust + cf tips? Thanks!

Never had it. But from what I understand, it switches power to the wheels that need it, so if you're taking a turn, you can keep it balanced.

I live in a big city, so it's pretty irrelevant.

Pretty expensive. Especially since you can't really enjoy that in city streets.

For $3600, you better track the heck out of that car!
For the street it's a waste.

It is not a waste on the streets. If you drove an M3 daily, you would therefore be enlightened and perhaps change your mind.

Not really. I know a few Porsche owners who would be just as well off in a Lexus. They bought the P car because they could and because they are a little douchey that way. Most people will never use it on the streets. Just because someone frequents this site doesn't mean they are clipping the apex of every right hand turn and powering out of it to merge onto the highway with enough frequency and general hooliganism to warrant spending that much.

The point is they offer it. People have been complaining for a while now that BMW has lost its sportiness. Yeah, it comes at a price, but at least they are listening to their fanbase. Can't have everything I suppose. eLSD works well for the vast majority. True LSD is avail for those who want it. Anyone who is crying that it is too much has never had to pull a rear end to send it away to have it converted over. This takes all the guess work out of it and keeps the factory warranty. Seriously, what more could you want?

We just want it to be a little cheaper...look at folks that want awd/xdrive (front diff, transfer case, etc), thats only $2k more so I dont see how a lsd is worth $3.6k on a hardware that just need to be swap out.
If they offer something that customers are not willing to pay...that's fail marketing

its not a fail if they want the M2 to be superior to the M235i and I believe that is what they are doing.
