I think the rigidity and feel of the 135 vs the 235 is giving you the impression that it's more "aggressive". That might simply be the 2er being newer and more "compliant" but also offering same or better performance.
As said, pads are everything. There is a "M Performance" pad option through BMW I believe, maybe you could ask the service dept to swap them out? |

Feel is subjective. The performance is the same. Again, if you want to improve your braking performance, you'll need better tires.

On the track I used Michelin PSS and Dunlop Direzza Star Spec tyres on my Z4M. The PSS went off after a couple of laps and felt quite greasy when hot also wearing quite quickly, the Direzzas took the heat a lot better and gripped significantly better than the PSS once hot. The PSS is a great summer tyre, but not the grippiest. |

There are plenty better than MPSS, but overall the MPSS are great performers and a really good "all arounder'. And yes, better tires mean better braking performance. We've reached the point where brakes are not the limiting factor for 60-0 performance, tires are. The brakes easily outperform the grip of the tires. Case in point, put some all season tires on the car. You're 60-0 will gain anywhere from 5-10 ft. More grip, shorter braking.

Braided brake lines That will improve pedal feel and inital bite a bit. But like everyone is saying, the 135 brakes do not perform better, they might just have more initial bite. I've had both types of setup and I prefer the M235's pedal because I can modulate it better under threshold braking. Have you tried re-bedding the brakes like I suggested? It's free and I think you may be surprised at the difference in initial bite and feel. |
