What Meth

Hey guys just wanted to share the install that I did this weekend. Picked up a new AA fmic and a BMS WMI kit. Big shout out to Mike at Xtreme. Thanks for giving me outstanding customer service and pricing. Also shout out to Terry with BMS for unreal response time and advice.

Anyways the intercooler was pretty straight forward. It was a little bit tight going in, but fit perfectly. After that I worked on the WMI install. This install was fairly straight forward. BMS provides detailed install instructions on their site. I ended up running 1 cm10 nozzle with the one gallon tank.

I painted the tank black, but left a strip off the the side and back for level check. I installed an led light strip on the back side of the tank and wired it to the trunk light, so that it lights up any time I open for easy level check. Pump and tank ft nicely in the small trunk compartment. I had to remove the plastic insert to fit though.

Eventually I will try to make a new surround that fits the tank to give a more "finished" look. I also need to touch up the tank. I painted it very quickly today and had a few patchy areas.

I will give a performance review when I have more time to test. Currently I am having a small hiccup with the solenoid. Once get that figured out I will report back.

Thanks. It was that or buy and wire in a low level sensor. I think this will work well though.

So I learned something strange tonight. LED light did not go off. However I returned to the car 10 minutes later and it was off. Maybe the trunk light uses the ground as a switch?

Did you leave the trunk open? I have on occasion when my hands are full and gone back to the garage 10-15 mins later and it's off. Can't tell you exactly but it's on a timer of some sort.

Put the rear seats down and looked through the window about 10 minutes later. If I wired it in parallel I believe it would function as I originally intended. I have it positapped to the positive and grounded to the negative terminal on the battery currently.

I'm fine with it being on for a few minutes after i close the trunk. I honestly probably would have never noticed if not for the video request. I was pretty confident that tapping into the positive would have replicated the trunk light function. ... Oh well.

Hi there. I'm thinking of installing the BMS meth kit as well. A few questions:
1) For street/canyon driving, how long does a 1 gallon tank last for?
2) Where did you install the pump? Any pics please?
3) Can the 2 gallon low profile tank fit at the small trunk compartment?
Thanks!

For street driving a 1 gallon tank can last me a few 1-3 weeks of agressive driving. On a track day I was running it dry in a 20 minute session. I then made a couple adjustments to the jb4 and it would last for 20 minutes.

No pictures right now, but I originally installed the pump down in that same area. I then put the pump in the battery compartment in the trunk

I don't think that the 2 gallon would fit in this compartment. The capacity of that compartment may be 2+ gallon, but it is oddly shaped.

It was not necessary, but sometimes I kept a few 12 oz bottles of meth in that compartment with the tank so I could always top it off. It's really not necessary though.

You could calc how long the tank would actually last with the nozzle size, tank size, and jb4 settings.

Thanks for the info. Can the pump be installed in the small trunk compartment along with the 1 gallon tank?

Yes, I originally had it in there. I was having a little bit of difficulty running the lines safely though. It can be done though.

Looks good. I had mine mounted on the back seat and ran the lines down where the pump sits in the bottom compartment. Takes up basically no space with the 1 gallon tank. Only downside is I can't put down the 1 seat but then again, I never do.

Although doubtful it would happen my only concern would be a leak on top of the battery compartment.
