They should have gone for an A5 style liftback shape. The problem is that having a sedan style trunk on a short coupe is what makes this look stubby. If they had gone for a liftback like A5 or A7, then the 2 series would have a much nicer design.

The third picture looks just like a mustang. But I think thats mostly because of the grille camo.

In one of the pictures I see a 6 Series with camo on the bumpers. It seems a little early for an LCI isn't it?

Also is that the Ghost Coupe in the background of the next picture... Actually scratch that I think its a Bentley.

The 6-er is the M650d Gran Coupe (according to SCOTT) there is an LCI M5 though.

The Rolls is a Rolls and not a Bentley.

For those who think the F22 coupe is stubby there is the rumored 2 series gran coupe. Should be sleeker.

I think by looking at the wheels of the 6 that it is an M6 Gran Coupe. The car still tests even after launch up to press launch. I have seen a 650d which will be evident by its M-Sport aeropacket and M Performance alloys.

Little piece of trivia for you all. Every car in that compound will eventually be crushed.

Scott, very interested to hear your impressions of the 3GT after your trip - your questions are exactly what I am wondering; ie, if it handles like a 3er with a little more luxury interior, that could be a winner - from the pics I actually thought the M Sport looked ok, though always hard to tell until you see it in the metal!

Very much looking forward to hearing your impressions.
So far I have not had the opportunity to properly exploit the car as we will be leaving in around two hours from now. but my first impressions are very impressive , its still a 3er but with added individuality and flexibility.

The car is very quiet in that it is well insulated to keep road noise to a bare minimum, it is almost similar to a 3er in how it drives if not a little more refined and just as quick. I ran a 320d till around this time last year till June and was impressed by the overall competency , I am hoping the 3er GT will return the same.
The interior is first rate , there is higher standard of leather and individual stitching to lift the interior from its 3er origins. Cargo space is impressive but it is fitted with the roof attatched ski-rack. It will certainly be a talking point at its destination.

The M-Sport Packet is stunning in reality. The wheels seen in the scooped LA picture are the optional 19"over the standard 18".

The 2 series Coupe should be larger (to provide more shoulder room for driver and the front passenger). The technicians took the 1 series and made it to Coupe to save costs, and this is visible.
As it is now, it's cramped. I have already discussed this over a month ago, so there is no point going back into the details.

A shortened 4 series would be a far better solution and far more premium.

A second thing is the form; the car would be far more spacious and practical for every day use if the Coupe would have a Ferrari Berlinetta (or Hyundai Veloster as Scott26 described the form) rear end.

In big companies it is so, that replicating existing forms gets a green light far easier than introducing something new; as a result there are cars like 6er Coupe (instead of making a sports car in the marvelous form of M8 concept a fish came out) and a pregnant Coupe aka 3er-GT.
The elegant sporty 3er Coupe was stretched into 6er Coupe and made pregnant into a 5 door 3er-GT.

The current 1 series has plenty of room for me. Also, none of what you mention is new. Companies have been leveraging economies of scale by using shared platforms for many years now.

Wow thats crazy!! For the Spartanburg built models in that compound like the X5, are the prototypes built in the US and then shipped overseas, or do they assemble one off prototypes in European factories?

I can't wait until 9/2014to get
a great deal on a 2013 135i Msport
Although I like the new look somewhat, I don't know that I like all of the new technology. It's too much. A.S.S. to be specific. I only need two driving modes, comfort and sport

Even though it has all the camo, I'm a bit disappointed. It looks more like a facelift of the current model than an all new one.

Have faith. This thing is going to be the bomb!

Take the already fantastic M135i and make it better looking and more dynamic and WOW.

Can't wait for M235i and M2 (GC in particular!)

That was actually the first thought I had when looking through the pictures. I know it is a government regulation to crush the test vehicles, but it seems like such a waste.

Smile Cost?

I wonder how much the M235i will cost? Based on the M135i it would cost £30,000 or about 48k..I hope the M235i will be about their. It would make sense because anything higher will be in the price range of a 3 series or even the new 4 series. I am hoping for about 42k-48k because I will be able to afford that.

I'm thinking its going to replace the 135is in our lineup, which starts at 43k- I'm guessing for a slight price hike for quality and standard equipment improvements, so 44-45k seems like a good guess to me.
