These are instructions from Lowi who also posted the video.

Also, one guy claims you can change the volume of the ASD. Would be great if you could select all that in a menu. Like in the Renault Clio. Silly but probably the future .

there is a setting for your type of audio but not sure if it makes any difference. maybe somebody with HK can check what it shows on 3000 ASD-Configuration, 8 Audio Level

OPTIONS
Stereo = 00
Hifi = 01
Branded Hifi = 02
TopHifi / Branded TopHifi = 03
High End = 04

the base audio is Hifi

I thought BMW claimed AS in the M3/4 being an amplified noise from the engine bay.
First they lied about the weight, now this. I wonder if the carbon fibre components used in F80 is real...

Well it's an amplified noise from some car's engine bay, namely the one used for the recording -- just not your car's engine bay. You're good with that, right?

This is sad, hilarious and cool at the same time.

Maybe BMW will start selling "track packs" owners could purchase for download.

Seriously. This is lame and poser as fuck. Then again, that sums up the majority of BMW's current clientele.

And I thought people hated ASD. Now, it looks like it's the opposite.

I know about a guy who has disabled it on his F80 as it was too loud and annoying. There's a video of it somewhere.

I just want someone to figure out how to code the car to default to sport mode instead of comfort mode.

It's very apparent the F-series generation owners aren't satisfied with their cars in stock form. It's also more apparent why BMW has diluted the M brand and sticks M decals everywhere. Better patent sound and haptic profiles before the big firms snatch them Up.

You can't code that which is not an option to be coded.

Please prove " dilution of the M brand"

First, quantify the M brand.
Then, show how it has been diluted and present us with a formula for said dilution.

Be sure to show your work.

Thanks !

Meanwhile, apparently, certain " f series generation owners " apparently will be MORE attracted to the M brand, because they can download their favorite M soundtrack, thereby increasing their desire to own an M car.. So tell me that formula again about dilution?

Scratch that. Someone should record the soundtrack of the old E46 M3's intake and that signature, US-only, exhaust rasp. I don't care if you call me a poser. Put that soundtrack in my car, and it will truly be heaven.
Why would you enjoy listening to a fake sound and know that your exhaust doesn't sound like that? That's like convincing yourself that if you get pec implants that they are just as good or better than going to the gym and lifting weights.

Furthermore, it's better to have the actual e46 M3 and enjoy that rasp with your windows down than to have it in your car. It's like lying to yourself.

I also thought the sound was a live amplified feed from YOUR engine, not a recording. The more I learn about shit like this the less I like where BMW is headed and the more I start looking at competitors.
