Accuracy of BMW NA Delivery Estimates

So now that my car has arrived at port in Baltimore, BMW gave me a date next week that the car will delivered to my dealer.

Based on your experience, how accurate are the dates you have received from BMW on dealer delivery?

When I called the BMW NA 800# after the car hit the port in Baltimore, they gave me a date that the car was expected to be at the dealer.

Depends on when you called- as soon as the ship docked or a few days after. If the car has not even been admitted into the VPC, then there is no way they can give you a proper estimate, but a more general one of 1 week is about right for most cars.

Your CA if they are knowledgeable is a much better source of accurate information. BMWNA Customer Specialist can only "see" so much on their computer screen. While your ordering dealership has more options. Good luck!

Unfortunately, my CA has remained 1000% non-committal to any date throughout the entire process. This is apparently due to customers flipping out at when things don't go to schedule.

The only information I get from my CA is that it should be here sometime this month.

Perhaps a smart move on his/her part as there are a multitude of things that can cause delays.

Thats it exactly. I think that even if my CA had the exact date, he wouldn't give it to me for fear of it possibly changing. I was surprised when BMW gave me an exact date, which is why I started the thread to see how accurate they are.

Rim should be fine. Dealer quoted me $282 for the tire but its on backorder so wouldnt arrive until thursday. I ordered off of tirerack instead for $252 which includes shipping and the tire road hazard protection. Also will arrive at my home on wednesday so ill drop it off to have put on and rebalanced thursday. Seems like a win all around from tirerack
