M235i oil temp figures from my car today

Thought people might like to know oil temps and water temps on the m235i.

This is from my car today, driving in Eco mode at approximately 37mpg so pretty soft driving.

Pics are after 10mins and then a further 5mins.

Ambient temperature was around 10 degrees c.
Temps displayed are in degrees c too.

105 / 95

107/110

I will need this steering wheel... and by "need" I mean "really really want".

Coolest bit is getting in, pressing ignition and having the wheel fit up. All the leds light up then fade again. Will post a video later

You do lose heating if you had a heated steering wheel before, right?

My attention was lost at "driving in Eco mode". Who does that?

You may end up doing that from time to time if you lived in the UK with the average price of gas currently just under $9 a gallon! With a 13.7 gallon tank, each fill up is easily $110-120.

Every time I'm in Europe I can't help but laugh when I'm at the pump having just been driving like a madman and having to fill up a tank at well over a hundred bucks.

I'm sure if I lived there though I'd end up saving my sport driving for when it really counts and cruising at eco the rest of the time. Otherwise I'd need a part time side job just for my fuel fund.

Lol quite correct. Fuel is at its lowest price for a while over here and it's still $100 to fill up an m235i so commuting in Eco is fine by me haha

Cool info, thanks.

Also, if you are stuck in traffic moving slowly why not be in Eco and a save a few bucks.

great practical post M.Barnes. Thanks for the insight into the oil and water curve. Having said that....one would have thought that the owner of a $100,000 (yes I live in Australia!) sports performance car wouldn't have to upgrade the M Sport steering wheel that comes standard in his M performance car just to get oil and water temp reading. How long till the marketing boffins at BMW provide a software patch that displays oil and water temp readings alongside the kW and Nm digital dials that show up on the Nav Screen when in sport/sport+ mode!! or if not....at least output it via bluetooth to my iPhone.....surely there is an "App for That". maybe Siri can tell me when my M performance N55 is ready for kick down!

By the way.....I have an AW M235 on order. 6 weeks away....so please all.... don't think i am a whinging pr**k who is trawling the forum to slam the car for fun. I still bought it because it is the first car from BMW I have been willing to give up the e46 for and.......realistically i live in Perth, Western Australia....its so frickin hot here, the engine oil is at 120 degrees most days before you even start the car :-)

there is a hidden menu that will give oil and water temp too but its faff and thought as i had the wheel i'd post my findings but yeah i can see its annoying not having it easily accessible.

I am based in the midlands, but drove 200 miles to tunbridge wells (coopers) as i got a brilliant deal. around 10% off list price on a brand new car was worth the drive and the service was fantastic.
