I have.

IMO, the M235i is:

-quicker
-roomier…especially in the back seat
-larger trunk
-nicer interior
-better mpg
-looks better
-less harsh ride for DD

Not knocking the 1 series, which is a potent little roller skate in it's own right. Just saying that many of the things that are improved in the 235 are notable for me.

Motor Trend is quickly drawing comparisons to the 1 series M:

Like the car. Lame review...aah, aah, oh, oh....spank me...Puh-lease, that told me more about the reviewer than it did about the car.

In unrelated news:
That must be the palest man on the planet! LOL. I guess the tester he had lacks a sunroof....

All the best.

Err what's age got to do with it? Do older gearheads want cars that are less fun to drive? That seems to be what you're implying.

I'm implying that the older gearheads will be disappointed because the greenhouse seems much smaller compared to the E46/E36. Reminds me of an old Z

Bladeomatic,

You and I might have to get together and enjoy a frosty beverage soon. I'm in LA as well, current post sound guy, with an EB M235i

When are you getting your M235i?

Well I'm 61 and have an M235 on order and have owned E36's, E46's, Z3's and Z4's and it seemed plenty big for me. Guess I qualify as an old gear head which is better than what I'm usually called which also ends with head. Just because someone's older doesn't mean they want a Buick or 5 or 6 series. The current 3 series is as big as my sons E39 if not bigger. The best BMW's are the small ones in IMO.

I heard that Buick is huge in China. They think it's the real american luxury car. Other than that, it's a ton of BMW, Mercedes, etc. I thought that was kinda funny.

Concur with these comments 100%. I am coming 70 in May and enjoying my 6MT 135i MSport. I'm also thinking of getting a new M235i within the next year. The current 3 Series is actually as large as the first of the 7 Series cars back in the 70s!!! The best are the smallest, I agree.

Lol!
My EB 235 due in a few weeks. Will have to compare when it gets here. Btw...I have a small software company now but was a recording engineer & post mixer for 15 years. Small world.

Doesn't change the fact that the greenhouse seemed smaller to me when compared to the E36/E46.

Still significantly better than the A3 - I sat in both within a few minutes of each other and the difference especially to the rear was noticeable. And compared to cars like the 370Z and C7 the 235 is miles ahead.

I'd take this reviewer's opinions with a huge grain of salt. Just looking at the titles of his other reviews it looks like there is not a car out there he doesn't love to death. He's such a minor player on the car reviewing scene that probably the only way he can ensure his access to press cars is by pumping out raves about everything his backside touches.
