Not sure... I sent Dinan an email asking why this is the case. They are about to lose 5k worth of mods if this is the case. I'll return the springs buy H&R and install them myself with my BMW friend mechanic. Stupid business model.

Hot damn. 1200 to install springs? That's insane. Is it because their Dinan springs? I got H&R's installed on my F30 at a BMW dealership for 350.

Dinan decided to put 7.6 hours worth of labor and a mandatory dinan alignment which i feel is bs (since the suspension hasn't settled).
7.6 x 145$ + 300 (alignment)= plus tax. wtf is that! |

My last car had springs swapped and bump stops trimmed and it was like Nicki Minaj, tricky to get at the rear. Still took under two hours.
I do like the height drop of these though. |

I got the same ridiculous quote from the dealer here in Austin. $1000 for the Dinan spring install, don't even think that included an alignment. Has Dinan shipped your springs yet? I'm just waiting on them to ship, wash hoping to get installed this week. I found a local tuner who has a flat fee for springs at $300 plus $100 for alignment. Install is more expensive than the springs. All this talk about Dinan and whether they void my warranty or not has me freaked out a bit though. No one seems to know the real deal. |

Performance wise, it will shift a small % of the weight to the rear with only the .5" drop (rear) vs. 1.0" drop (front). I agree that full 1.0" drop looks better (my opinion fellas) and will be going with H&R, adding following to still allow slight weight shift to rear:
235/40/18 that are 25.4" vs. factory 225/40/18 at 25.1" = 0.15" TALLER IN FRONT. 255/35/18 that are 25.0" vs. factory 245/35/18 at 24.8" = 0.10" TALLER IN REAR. THis overall will allow 0.05" higher in front and shift small amount of weight toward rear, keeping similar factory ratio! The huge issue will be many people running H&R and 245's.....they will be adding more weight to front of vehicle and reducing performance From looks perspective this setup will close wheel & fender gap by: 1.15" Front / 1.1" Rear while adding slightly wider rubber for track days!!!

I don't want the car dropped the amount that H/R does. That and I want to stick with 1 vendor (Dinan) for the majority of my mods. Makes no sense to me to have 4 different vendors on my car right now. I keep somewhat of a warranty and I earn the badges (which I'm not even sure if they are worth anything).
I ran H&R on my mustang and I had zero complaints. Eibach on my present Mustang and they are pretty good too. |

I got the Dinan springs/bump stops in the mail today. I'm trying to get in on Friday to have it all done + 15mm spacers front/back. I'm a little nervous about the drop (.5" front/1" in back) but I feel like Dinan knows what they're doing. Can't wait to take it for a real drive this weekend. Or is there a break-in period with the springs, however short?

I am just a bit surprised and wonder if no one has made the jump yet. For instance Dinan required them with the wheels i got for my 335i. |

here are a few pics of the car with Dinan springs and 15mm spacers.
The springs tighten it up. They make comfort mode a bit sportier and take sport mode to the next level. Where I notice the most change is in cornering. My only gripe about this car was the body roll and the springs have eliminated a lot of it. Obviously it's not the floatiest ride, but it always feels controlled and never harsh over bumps. IMO it's perfect. Visually it's subtle but just enough to be a bit more aggressive. |
