BMW 220i M Sport Coupe from Taiwan
Hi BMW 2 Series lovers,
I would like to introduce my new vehicle arrived on the day after Christmas. Initially I was considering to get a hatchback because smaller size would be more convenient to drive through heavy traffic in crowded cities. Mercedes A-Class was my first choice, but I was still considering to get a BMW just because 4 Series Coupe looks so fantastic. Once I saw the photo comparison between M4 and the new C63 coupe, my heart was biased to Mercedes again. However, after I saw a 220i Sport Coupe in the parking lot of the building where I work, I felt 2 Series Coupe looks much better in person with optimized portion and dimensions. I went to a dealer and asked for 2 Series Coupe, they told me they only have one Black Sapphire 220i in stock. And I have to make appointment one week earlier to arrange test drive because they only have one test drive car in whole Taipei City shared by several dealers. When I got the opportunity to take a ride, I realized this is the car I want. The seat is close to ground and so supportive, chassis and suspension are solid but still comfortable. How easy it was to corner at a relative high speed made me so impressive about the control with RWD. Although BMW Taiwan distributor have already selected M Sport package as standard option for first batch of MY16 220i with discounted price, I still like to have Estoril Blue as exterior color so much. I was leaning to take a custom order with several options including Coral Red interior, HK speaker, PDC, rear view camera, and M Sport brake. Extra price to pay and 3 months to wait pull me back to reality after one week consideration. I don't think those good looking and fancy equipments worth that much. Unfortunately, the leftover Black Sapphire was ordered one day before I made up my mind. The salesman have to look for available color options from other dealers if I don't want to wait. This is all about destiny, there is a Estoril Blue just arrived the harbor and was not sold yet. I am so lucky to get the color I want. Cars are expensive because of heavy import tax in Taiwan. We also have limited engine options (M235i/220i/220d) because coupes are not very popular. But after all, I still enjoy the driving experience with my 220i M Sport Coupe. V-Kool 35% tint and Garmin GDR 45D driving recorder are the only modifications so far. I might have stainless steel pedal and black kidney grilles installed. M performance front splitter looks aggressive but driving underground to the parking lot will get it scratched. I am also looking for 19" wheels and upgraded brakes. VMR V710, HRE FF15 and S104 are current wheel options. I really like the look of HRE S204, but 20" up is not compatible with F22. by naushuy by naushuy by naushuy by naushuy by naushuy |
