M2 at dealership
M2 at BMW dealer in AZ. Euro spec of course and not for sale but it's like seeing a unicorn.

I agree. Most of us with 235's won't be jumping all over this even though it's definitely more aggressive. Between allocation numbers, talk of limited production and $10k over MSRP I'll stick with my tuned 235i.

Euro spec would not have the amber reflectors in the front bumper. Euro spec would have amber turn signal in the rear lenses. I don't think that car is Euro spec.

To my understanding "euro spec" simply means that until a North American version of an M2 is built all these cars are simply modified to look like a North American representation.

I go through this scenario every fucking day...it's actually agonizing. Do I keep my car that I got 3 months ago and continue modding...or sell it and pick this up late 2016/early 2017? I don't track my car so it's literally just a status symbol of having a fatter ass on the rear of my car. Same leather, seats, navi, steering wheel, engine, etc... Nicer wheels, wider hips and M3 suspension... Don't know if the additional work and cost is worth it but I won't know until I see it in person. |

I would imagine the passive suspension on the M2 is a little bit too stiff for a comfortable daily driver unless you drive on perfect roads, even the M235i is a bit harsh with passive

No. These are canadian spec cars. Which are US spec cars with KM/H clusters. If you check the thread with the 30-odd M2s shipped to the US, most of them were canadian models. I also have the vin number for the M2 i saw at the philly auto show, which was a canadian model.

245 section tire eh? Looks like it will be a 265, 245 setup rather than the F8x 275,255. Strange because I thought they shared the same wheels. I am noticing a lot more tire stretch on the M2 though.

This is funny; There was a special order M235 that showed up at the dealer a few days ago. It was unloaded the day I was down there talking to them about M2 vs M235. Slick Top, 6MT, plus some other options that pushed it into the low $50s. The guy had been waiting for months. The SA called me the next day to let me know they could put me into that M235 as the poor guy had "been laid off" and couldn't close on it. I called BS on his job status! |

You're about $9k off from what I'd let it go for. The car has 5,000 miles for crying out loud with a sticker price of $49,XXX lol Situations arise all the time...unexpected ones like a job loss, family death or even child birth as you very well know - may not be bullshit... We are use to the sticker price and cost of admission but a $50k car is a large purchase. I don't know. I miss my 6spd at times...but I do love the auto transmission these cars have. The only upgrade that I would utilize would be body style and brownie points for having a car with such a fat ass... As I mentioned - I don't track (never have with any of my cars). So...I would get one to jump back into a 6spd and to have an M badge of honor - although others would argue about the non-carbon roof or lack of m-mirrors not making this a "TRUE" M Car Who knows...my local dealership has a weight list of a few people and I probably wouldn't get one until later this year if I do jump ship as I'd want to test drive it and really decide if I want another 6spd. The more and more I look at it...the body style is growing on me big time. At first I hated it...now I seem to hate it less and less lol |
