How many folks here are #1, 2 or 3 on the M2 wait list??

If we find out that these cars are pretty readily available, I'll most likely hold off towards end of 2017, early 2018. That way, I can keep my E36 M3 as well. I've been enjoying driving it way too much lately and would hate to see it go.

I really enjoy your comments, and agree with you most of the time, but I must say for someone so itching to see the m2 you are now fine waiting till 2018!

Trust me, it won't be easy if I see everyone enjoying their M2s. I just don't want to regret selling my E36.

If the M2 is going to be very hard to get, then I'll have no choice but to let the old M3 go. But if I can wait a couple of years, then I'd be able to keep the E36 and E92 while adding the M2. I know I've got a really good one (good color, good maintenance, low mileage, good mods) so it would be a shame to let it go.

I was Number 1, Asked them to put me on a list almost a year ago. I decided I couldn't wait any longer and decided to order the M235i before BMW neutered it. To be honest I am glad I let go of my spot, with the boring color options and the only interior option being black its a deal killer. Not to mention I'm not too impressed with the preliminary numbers.

I also wanted to drive a non M vehicle as my first "real" BMW so I could appreciate the performance aspects of a real M when I get it. (Almost ordered an M4)

Im shooting for late 2016 order, hopefully they will listen to us and give us a cloth interior w/ a more gnarly color pallet!

2 of my 3 closest dealers had no idea what an M2 was.

One wanted a "semi-refundable" $1000 deposit. I balked since the "semi" part scared me and they couldn't tell me all the exclusions. We made a "gentleman's agreement" and he would call me when deposits would be required or another customer actually puts down a deposit. He actually wanted to start writing up a sale with the car being MSRP. But with no allocation, no pricing, no ED availability or etc.

I am on 3 lists.

I want to do ED in late May/early June '16 and hope there will be no delays. If there are delays, the M2 might be out or I'd have to wait till the follow Spring/Summer :-(

Yes, might split out then to a manual light optioned fun car M2 and a daily beater, not sure. M4 is still super sweet though so want to see how the M2 stacks up, won't be long to see!

The same thing happened when the 1M came out and she called me right away when I could order one, My sales person was very on top of her game and I am sure she will let me know this time too. Maybe I will give her a call this week and see whats up?

If you've had a good experience with her before, I think you'll be fine. Last I check, my dealership didn't have any info on the car, but the salesman is supposed to call me when you're able to order. Then I'll have to put a deposit down is what he told me.

Never thought it would be limited but I might end up holding off until the 2017 year model in the hopes of better color/option selection. With such a late 2016 production schedule the wait shouldn't be an entire year.
