I think its a hell of a competitor and honestly lilely has a lot to offer at a potentially lower price point. It's a tough comparison when one car offers magnetic shocks and a 5.2L flat plane crank v8 making 520+ hp and the other car offers no magnetic ride and a 365 hp n55. I'm not even convinced the m2 will be much lighter It's a big offering from ford and I hope Bmw is smart with their pricing. Anything over 50k for a car without cf roof, special engine, etc is a tough sell |

Agreed. I also think Ford Dealers will mark it up $5K - $10K especially this years' version because they are only making 137 (100 GT350/37 - GT350Rs). It is such a good time to be a car enthusiast, but it's making me think too much!!

For $62k you can get a track beast with carbon fiber wheels. Not bad.

The m2 will be a very good car and first on my list. But as a few mentioned, lack of CF, N55 engine,... Well, If BMW is going to give up all that, then pricing should be reflective. |

BMW does not care about the Mustang GT350.

The GT350 is as big as a bus, only place it might be in competition with the M2 is in the US so I doubt BMW are that worried about it, seems to me most people want an M2 because of its size or they would be looking at an M4, also they already have people putting deposits down and it's not even released yet so clearly it's not going to be hard to sell the full production run for a long time even if it's over $60k

You better believe the pricing and competitive cars will impact the sales I'm rooting for the m2, I'm just concerned with the price because Bmw has cut out a lot of the high tech components from the m3 like the cf parts and special motor. The price needs to reflect that, I hope it does. It did for the 1m |

The only car that would be on my radar would be a Ford Focus RS. And maybe the Corvette Stingray. Neither of those I would have liked as much as a smaller Mustang.

You can't compare the car industry to clothing. Also, let's stop pretending that BMW is some prestigious King and and that Ford is a Peasant. The GT350 is sick, and a lot of people don't care about the logo that's on their shirts. If you really think BMW doesn't care about the GT350 undercutting their prices and offering 500 HP with an insane exhaust note, then you should probably stop shopping at the same clothing store just because you've fallen in love with the RL logo. |

I'm most definitely a BMW fanboy, as I've owned many older M cars, but I'm not ignorant to that fact that other car makers are upping the bar at great prices. I am the target audience for this car, young professional, looking to purchase an entry level new M car. I would love a new M3, but its cost is just a tad out of my price range at this point in time. |

Yep the Mustang is 14 inches longer than my 228. Mustang would not even fit in my garage

I'd say if the M2 starts at anything over 50k its going to be tough to not look at the gt350. |
