Most will probably add 15k in options to it; Tech and track packs - I've been cross shopping the M2 and GT350 as well - unless Ford pulls a rabbit out of it's hat I don't think it's going to be all that popular among the German car crowd.

And for a car that looks THIS amazing, just wow. So beautiful.

You can't add both, it's either track pack or tech pack. So max of 7500 in options.

I think its a hell of a competitor and honestly lilely has a lot to offer at a potentially lower price point.

It's a tough comparison when one car offers magnetic shocks and a 5.2L flat plane crank v8 making 520+ hp and the other car offers no magnetic ride and a 365 hp n55. I'm not even convinced the m2 will be much lighter

It's a big offering from ford and I hope Bmw is smart with their pricing. Anything over 50k for a car without cf roof, special engine, etc is a tough sell

Agreed. I also think Ford Dealers will mark it up $5K - $10K especially this years' version because they are only making 137 (100 GT350/37 - GT350Rs). It is such a good time to be a car enthusiast, but it's making me think too much!!

Wow, just saw the pricing guide for GT350. It all depends on the M2 pricing now. Because my GT350 build with track pack, dest, gas guzzler is $53,495. BMW needs to release M2 info soon. I see people on mustang forum with msrp deals lined up for the GT350.

For $62k you can get a track beast with carbon fiber wheels. Not bad.

GT350/GT350R pricing with options:

I consider a 500 hp FPC @ $47k a solid rabbit out of the hat. Love Ford's direction!

The m2 will be a very good car and first on my list. But as a few mentioned, lack of CF, N55 engine,... Well, If BMW is going to give up all that, then pricing should be reflective.

If only the Mustang were a bit smaller and had reasonable outward visibility I would be seriously considering one.

BMW does not care about the Mustang GT350.

The GT350 is as big as a bus, only place it might be in competition with the M2 is in the US so I doubt BMW are that worried about it, seems to me most people want an M2 because of its size or they would be looking at an M4, also they already have people putting deposits down and it's not even released yet so clearly it's not going to be hard to sell the full production run for a long time even if it's over $60k

Just because it's got deposits on it now, doesn't mean it will ultimately be a great seller

You better believe the pricing and competitive cars will impact the sales

I'm rooting for the m2, I'm just concerned with the price because Bmw has cut out a lot of the high tech components from the m3 like the cf parts and special motor. The price needs to reflect that, I hope it does. It did for the 1m

The problem is that if you have an issue with the size of the M3/4 (which a lot of people here do), what American competition do you go for? Because the Mustang is the size of a tank unfortunately. Not saying it won't be a beast of a car, but it's just physically too big for what I'm looking for.

The only car that would be on my radar would be a Ford Focus RS. And maybe the Corvette Stingray. Neither of those I would have liked as much as a smaller Mustang.

I really hope you're kidding. Because they definitely do. There are forum members here now debating gt350 vs M2. And that's just between BMW fanboys. Outside of the fanboy realm it will be even more common.

You can't compare the car industry to clothing. Also, let's stop pretending that BMW is some prestigious King and and that Ford is a Peasant. The GT350 is sick, and a lot of people don't care about the logo that's on their shirts. If you really think BMW doesn't care about the GT350 undercutting their prices and offering 500 HP with an insane exhaust note, then you should probably stop shopping at the same clothing store just because you've fallen in love with the RL logo.

I totally agree with this statement. I have a 100% refundable deposit down on an M2 and if the pricing is not in line, I am 100% taking my deposit back and looking at other options. Not just BMW options, Mustang GT, GT350, Used Cayman S, used Corvette, etc.

I'm most definitely a BMW fanboy, as I've owned many older M cars, but I'm not ignorant to that fact that other car makers are upping the bar at great prices. I am the target audience for this car, young professional, looking to purchase an entry level new M car. I would love a new M3, but its cost is just a tad out of my price range at this point in time.

In the same exact spot. If the price starts at something like 55 I'm out, because I can get so much for less with the GT350/GT, new Camaro (interior is awesome), Golf R etc

I agree the size is the main deterrent. I am not saying I am highly considering the Mustang, but I do hope competition in the performance segment forces BMWs hand and they reduce cutting corners in order to allow the M3/4 breathing room. I'm also not just referring to performance. I am really interested in LBB, but I wish there were more choices to choose from other than varying shades of grey.

Yep the Mustang is 14 inches longer than my 228. Mustang would not even fit in my garage

The base price actually comes right to 50k if you include the destination charge and mandatory gas guzzler tax. $7500 for the tech package and $6500 for the racing package.

I'd say if the M2 starts at anything over 50k its going to be tough to not look at the gt350.

Again...the tech pack and track pack are mutually exclusive.

There is some feature overlap and you cannot choose both. Only one or the other

I'll take track all day to keep those recaros
