However, when the specs come out or when you are able to build these online, I'll probably have to put a deposit down myself too.
Is there a proposed "group" ED for the M2? You're the second post in this thread that mentions a group or "mass" ED...

Just wondering. Because I am planning on going the ED route for the new M...

Thanks for any info

There were talks of it, then I heard nothing. I haven't looked much into it lately because I'm probably going to skip ED myself. Last I heard, some of the guys that planned the F80/2 trip were supposed to do another one for the M2. Sorry if that's not too helpful.

Yes, I know. I set on Sports + suspension and Comfort steering as the best combo IMHO.

Getting out of my Boxster Spyder and Lancer Evolution the M3 steering is really lacking feel. Compared to other EPS the FR-S steering feel is even better. The M3 is a great car but, that is one thing that is not it's strong points. I'm sure BMW will program and tweak it over time but the EPS is fairly new to M cars.

I'm still waiting for the official specs on the M2. I'm interested.
EPS is a matter of fine tuning an algorithm. Fairly confident that F30 3 series and vehicles like the x3 have been getting running updates.

With eps, improved steering feel is simply a firmware update away.

You should probably search the forums for this as there are entire threads posted pretty much weekly about this process from new owners.

See my euro delivery story for example.

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=584069

It's absolutely hands down the best way to buy a new Bmw and you may be able to save money as well.

The hardest part of the process will likely be finding a client advisor at your dealer that is familiar with euro delivery.
Sales people don't get paid until a car is delivered.. and with the lead time on most Euro Delivery being 60-90 days... most client advisors would rather you leave the dealership with a car the day you walk in.

Start here..

http://www.bmwusa.com/europeandelivery

Look up the info above... do some additional research on this forum and head to the local dealer..

As with any enthusiast approaching a car dealer.... it's fairly likely that YOU will be more knowledgeable about the ED process (as well as the car lol) than the client advisors at most average dealerships.

if you get a lot of blank stares or they are aloof, be firm and ask for management at your dealer if need be, or even go to a different dealership if you have to.... . Stick to your guns.. it *is* worth the hassle

Also, for those of you that are BMW CCA members.. Now would be a good time to make sure that your membership is active and in good standing. Keep it that way for a full year prior to an M2 purchase and you likely would qualify for a rebate.

https://www.bmwcca.org/vehicle_rebate

Currently, it appears nearly all models including M (although perhaps not the X5 and X6M) models qualify.

https://www.bmwcca.org/sites/default...pplication.pdf

It's amazing how few people take advantage of this ! A $50 annual membership will more than pay for itself with one new vehicle purchase. People that LEASE cars every 2-3 years would be FOOLS not to take advantage of this with each purchase..

I have my name at 3 dealers.
#1
#3
#1

The 1st dealer wanted a $1000 "Semi-refundable" deposit. I balked at the "semi" part. With too many variables and unknowns with a car. Based of the timelines, he said it would be a MSRP deal. He reassured me several times that they do not do Market Adjustments. We made a gentleman's agreement. He told me that if deposits become a requirement, I will be 1st.

I would put down money at each dealer if they were 100% refundable. But i am not getting into that fight in 8-12months.
