I can't speak for the wheels but I have a square set 225/45/17 of the WinterContact SI on my car right now and they have gone through this years Buffalo winter like champs. I have no other tyre to compare them to but so far the only time I have ever gotten close to getting stuck was in 10" of fresh snow when I was doing doughnuts.

They are squishy when it gets warm but that's to be expected so I can't fault that.

Otherwise I just don't know how people drive here without good winter tyres! I'm a total convert now between the Continentals on my car and the Generals on my wife's.

Before and after pictures of cleaning a filthy car.

Couldn't wash the car for over a month because of cold (-20°C or -4°F) and snowy weather. I must say the sunset orange isn't that sensitive to dirt. It was much worse than it looks in the pictures.
