Try not to be too much of a fan boy. Reviews aren't even out yet. This type of attitude is simply detrimental.

The Boss 302, which is a close version of this car has held its value quite well. This GT350 will be even more special so I see it holding equally well.

Long term resale value ?

You put 100000 miles on a BMW you can still sell it for a nice figure.
Not so much with the Ford !

Same comparison.

Put a 100k miles on a Honda. You will still get a grip.

Not so much with the Ford.

Not all fords... The specialty models will probably retain their value well, if Detroit doesnt over-produce them and flood the market...

Just look at the 2004-5 Ford GT. Those cars have more than doubled from their original MSRP. Just try to find one under 200k now.

Not so much on the M3 anyhow.

5 year cost to own -

2013 M3 $94,482

2013 Boss 302 $67,020

Wow, you pick the one Ford in the last 30 years to appreciate as your example? The Ford GT is a really interesting but very rare story regardless of make. Currently speculators are driving the prices up on these cars but I suspect the 70's Hemi's and 69 Camaros that shot through the roof a few years ago these prices will begin to settle down and regress.

I'm referring to the end resale value.

Cost to own is figured on you holding that purchase only.

Anyway, back on topic. I think with so many cars coming out, I'm going to be more demanding with the M2. So things like not having CF roof might start to factor in my decision, as well as price and things of that kind.

Because if it doesn't work out the way I hope, there are plenty of new cars coming out, not to mention a few used M cars that I wouldn't mind trying out (aka Z4M coupe or a clean E46 M3)

The resale is considered in the cost to own analysis.

You get what you pay for, the BMW is a nicer car, no doubt, but it's not a better value than a high end mustang.

Second the G.T. 350 even with the crappy build quality Ford has it will still be a better sounding car. Bad paint and uneven body panel gaps are standard on all Ford's.

My pops had a Z4MC - it would be hard to live with everyday, but that car felt like a effing race car.

There were absolutely no boring rides or drives in it...

LOL - it's not me thinking Brosef, go look at the links I posted. They include depreciation.

I love my BMWs, I'm not dissing it - but at the end of the day a performance BMW is really not a very good value.

It's very apparent to me that Europeans especially refuse to accept the fact that American car companies are producing some KILLER cars at lower prices. Sucks to suck I guess. I don't know why we can't just love all cars for what they are.

Hmm...let me think a flat plane crank 5.2L V8 revving over 8,000 or a tuned N55?
