I read through the thread and I'm a bit confused, lets say you only do the Race chip and leave it at the standard setting, what hp gains are we looking at?
Also how does the car adapt to the RC? Is the car still running smoothly or does it have hiccups sometimes? |

It deflects and force feeds cooler and a larger volume of air directly into the airbox for WOT heavy acceleration .... !!

If any of these two really fits our cars and someone dares to take the risk and buy it, please let us know, 'cause if it fits, I will go with one but in carbon fiber |

http://www.racechip.com/chiptuning/b...40kw/index.php Now about your other question, I used the car for one and a half days, did some testing runs (hard acceleration drags) and traffic driving, no problems at all. I've tested it in Sport and Comfort, not a single problem nor a CEL error. I suggest you to read my first impressions within this thread: http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showp...7&postcount=18 Let me know if this helps Last edited by AlexGT; 02-17-2015 at 09:06 AM.. |

I do recommend from my own testing that 50-100 miles is where I noticed it even more as well you get to see the MPG numbers. I drive mostly in EcoPro where there is most lag and it is gone now. Comfort is much more awake than EcoPro and I go into Sport for curves or when I want to be as aggressive as possible with Sport+ and more steering feel control.

So far I'm very happy with the results I got with the factory settings If I get the chance to get my hands on some VP racing fuel, I will definitely try to jump to these suggested settings and let you guys know. Thanks again opa |

98 RON is prob 93 octane if I'm not mistaken You'll be ok after a 50-100 miles of testing your current settings you can proceed to 1 notch increase drive 50-100 miles at least and see your thoughts and feel. Then again 1 increase.. as Delnari and Chaddy74 advised in your engine they don't recommend above F. B, C, D, E , so you have 3 settings before F

USA (AKI/PON) --- Europe (RON) 87 = 91 89 = 93 91 = 95 93 = 98 Trust me, you'll be perfectly fine at 1-2 settings above. The people going higher are the ones messing with CEL errors in the future if their engine can't handle it. I would definitely do it. I'm not some random tester either. I've done my research and participated actively in the F15 discussion forum since RaceChip started to grow and more people started buying it. You have nothing to lose by testing just 1 setting above. However, it is your car, and it's up to you. I was scared myself since no one had any information on my engine and no one really had info on RaceChip on any petrol engine in the F15 forum. However, after all the info, things have changed quite a bit with many testers on 35i, 35d, and (3 on the 50i - me being one of them). Even on C, I'm very happy. However, as told by an M6 member thedragonseven, D makes it perform even better. Also, for everyone wondering. The screws take a Torx T10 screwdriver. I bought a full kit and it will make your life so much easier when unscrewing and re-screwing the cover back on because their tool is pretty terrible/slow lol. This is what I bought. It's made very well: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Thanks!
Seems like an interesting tune........ Just curious, why would anyone choose this tune over lets just say a JB4 stage 2? Doesn't really seem like it has any benefits over a JB4 (No data logging, CEL removal for DP, meth control, etc...). Not knocking it but not being able to data log to see if my engine is happy or not would be a serious draw back to me. Am I missing something? -Nick |

I think as Rob and Delnari said, if you go beyond F, you'll be facing CEL at some point because of the wear/tear. Think of it like an athlete taking a performance enhancement drug. If the athlete starts to venture outside the suggested directions and abuses it, he will run into issues. The heart will only be able to keep up to a certain degree before it gets strained and works too hard eventually leading to a heart attack. You can think of the engine as the heart and the CEL as the heart attack.
